I’m a cybersecurity consultant at BxC GmbH & Co. KG. We provide consultancy services for cybersecurity, mostly in the German-speaking markets.

What challenge were you trying to address with MONSOON?
We wanted to achieve two things; first, we were looking to be recognized on social media to get new clients. Secondly, we were trying to attract potential people to our team.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
MONSOON creates content for us every month; they plan what they’ll post on our social media channels, mostly on LinkedIn and Instagram. They create content based on our input and the research they carry on individually. They also search for trends in the market of cybersecurity, searching for news, events, recurrences, and so on. For a more strategic review, they also target specific markets and profiles on social media. For example, they look for potential clients; we mainly target companies doing production.
For lead generation, MONSOON initially asked us for suggestions. They refined the list and asked us which profiles we wanted to target. Later on, they built on top of that. They also translated our posts to German internally; however, it was counterproductive, so they stopped doing it.
They’ve also designed postcards for Christmas and taken care of some design aspects for us. Additionally, MONSOON is responsible for posting content and responding to comments.
What is the team composition?
We work with five teammates in total. However, three have been the most engaged, including the founder and the head of marketing/co-founder.
How did you come to work with MONSOON?
A colleague found them. They searched for a marketing team in the German market.
How much have you invested in them?
Our contract is for €3,500 (approximately $3,700 USD) per month.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in June 2022, and it’s an ongoing engagement. We have no end date for the collaboration.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have some KPIs. We’re looking to see if the engagement is raising the number of followers on our social media platforms and the number of likes. For qualitative metrics, we’ve also received messages from people on LinkedIn who have asked for information about working with us and told us the company looks cool.
How did MONSOON perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is nearly perfect; there’s still room for improvement. We use Asana for communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They understand how we work, what we do, and what’s our business about. Initially, they weren’t much into cybersecurity, but they tried to understand our needs and potential.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything right now. Some typos in a few posts could’ve been avoided, but I don’t think that’s significant.

We started out by having a discovery workshop, where we talked about what we did now in other markets, what our experiences with Germany was, and what we wanted to achieve. After this, Monsoon conducted a bunch of research where their findings were presented. Lastly we had a final strategy meeting, where they presented some ideas for the strategy that we should follow.

I was attending all the meetings, and I had the head of growth with me for 2 of the meetings, and a campaign manager for the last one. From their end they brought a bunch of different capacities, from the founders, strategists, growth hacker and google specialists.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We are implementing the way of communicating in all of our communication, to make sure we are communicating in the proper way. As we only just finished the process, we haven't seen any end results yet.

Very effective. On-going talks, and bi-weekly sessions, where we made sure all of our questions and wonderings was answered. All the way they've been proactive, and made sure that we knew what the next step was.

Their dedication to this project, and the research they've done is really great. They quickly found out what our needs was, and responded to them.
Is there any area for improvement or anything that could have been done differently?
We could have split the sessions up in maybe one or two, to make sure that we were able to digest everything. As it was very data and research heavy, it got a bit tough to make sure we got around everything.

As we were at the beginning of our marketing journey for our med-tech product, we wanted the services of a digital marketing agency that would act as an extension of our own team. My cooperation with Monsoon began with the audit, after which I found out what actions needed to be implemented so that I could reach my customers more effectively. They ran specific campaigns to increase the visibility of my website. As a result, I received more leads and potential clients based in Germany.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Thanks to Facebook ads targeting, the visibility of my website significantly increased, which resulted in more leads contacting me to work with them. Patrycja and Maciej also suggested changing my website and adapting the copy, which also helped.

Additionally to this, we have made a few viral campaigns with more complex content creation.

Monsoon is a team of true marketing experts who go above and beyond to deliver the best possible service. I’ve been working with Maciej, the CEO of Monsoon, on many projects even before the Monsoon agency was born. We have built mutual trust after many years of collaboration, so I’m confident that my marketing campaigns are always in good hands. I also value a high flexibility in the approach and set up.

Monsoon has supported us with building marketing strategies, tracking, and lead generation campaigns, across various advertising platforms, such as Facebook Ads, Google Ads, and LinkedIn. They also manage SEO activities and content creation, build multiple landing pages, deliver reporting and tracking. Their approach to marketing is holistic, so they can also provide us with services based on our/the market needs. We’re currently working on scaling the SunRoof products to 4 different markets: PL, DE, SE, and the US.

I’ve worked with many Monsoon team members based on project needs. The SunRoof project has a dedicated project manager Natalia, also a marketing expert. The CMO, and Google Ads expert Monika, regularly attends the weekly meetings, and I have direct, regular contact with Maciej, the CEO of Monsoon.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Despite the pandemic, we have significantly increased YoY growth for SunRoof when comparing 2020 to 2021. Besides, we see sustainable growth in leads and conversion rates for our top markets. Together, we scaled the business from one to four markets and did successful market entries. Even though we grew very fast, we see the same commitment and energy from the Monsoon team, which is great.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow is smooth and productive. We have a dedicated project manager and regular weekly meetings. If an additional catch-up is needed, it’s never a problem. In case of any ad-hoc matters, we also communicate via emails, Slack, or we do a quick phone call. The Monsoon team is always happy to support us when needed. This has been included late afternoons and weekends too.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What stuck out to me is their holistic marketing approach. I feel like everything is possible for this team. They’re proactive and always willing to run the extra mile. I appreciate this attitude and often feel like I work with my internal marketing team, not the agency. We have done super quick gerilla marketing campaigns, retaliations to agresive competitors actions and advanced viral content marketing. They have also helped us to create very good marketing reporting dashboards. Never got this help from other agencies like this.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I can’t think of anything at the moment. I’m happy with our collaboration so far.
