BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the founder of Dum Audio, a company that makes and sells a unique line of stereo equipment targeted at the mid-market consumer.

For what projects/services did your company hire Momentum Product Design?

I had a vision of a hi-fi stereo system that appeals to the music loving mid-market consumer with a beautiful stereo system that performs at a high level.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I spoke to several product development companies, but from my first discussion with the guys at Momentum Product Design I could immediately sense that they understood my vision and had the skills to deliver. As soon as we started working together, they exceeded my very high expectations both with the caliber of their work and their friendly professionalism.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The project started with a high-level discussion about what I wanted to achieve and some general design ideas I had come up with. They then presented me with four unique design concepts, all of which were viable but one of which hit the bullseye dead centre. After a few rounds of iterations and consultations with the engineering team, we finalized a design for three products - an amplifier, a turntable, and pair of passive speakers.

I then decided to add a fourth product - a subwoofer - and Momentum Product Design immediately came up with a design that perfectly complemented the rest of the system. When it came time to actually manufacture the products, Momentum Product Design worked hand in hand with my manufacturing partner and me to make sure everything was in order - including the design of packaging and instruction manuals.

I worked with three people - Colin, Mark, and Scott - all of whom are principals at the company.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have just released the products to the public and literally every customer so far has been blown away by the beauty and quality craftsmanship of the products. More than once the term "work of art" has been used.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

There was never any delay or miscommunication from their side. When something was needed, it was done quickly and effectively.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

At the end of the day, what matters most is the quality of the work, and this was, above everything else, what most impressed me.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing springs to mind.
