BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO and one of the founding partners of niido.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Labs?
We created a product that’s the first mover in the space. Once we realized this is something worth licensing, we wanted to make the product visible and marketable through UI/UX.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
It was a long, iterative process. We collaborated over the phone and in-person for an information gathering and investigative project phase. They flew to our offices to discuss the scope and breadth of our product with our leadership team and product operators. From there, they went to the drawing board to create the designs.
What is the team composition?
There were about five people on their team, including a salesperson, project manager, lead designer, and several other professionals in the background.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Labs?
We considered several companies, starting our search organically online. Looking at vendor offerings and portfolios, we narrowed our selection down to Momentum Design Labs and one other company. We opted for them because of their work experience and style aligned with what we wanted.
How much have you invested with them?
In total, we spent about $330,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project spanned from May–September 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The UI/UX designs and functionality recommendations were absolutely phenomenal. We haven’t implemented them yet because we need to program and restructure the app before it can be launched. However, just from a surface level, we know for a fact that they did great work.
How did Momentum Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?
They were definitely seasoned project managers, following a very precise timeline and workflow. We spoke with them about progress about three times each week.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their diligence and hard work were appreciated. Even when we didn’t give them specific directions, they were able to extrapolate what we needed. They’re an intuitive team that took the time to understand our business.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The handoff between the sales team and the project team wasn’t as clear as it could’ve been. Some of what we wanted from them wasn’t shown in the final scope of the work, which was partially a mistake on our end. There were a few things we had to tack onto the end of the project, but I don’t blame them fully for it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure that the project scope contains everything you discussed on the sales call before signing off.

Momentum Design Lab led a UI/UX overhaul for a data management company’s main platform. They integrated features and functionalities, including new APIs and updated search capabilities.
The team impressed the internal staff with their bold, daring design suggestions that resulted in highly positive results. Despite the complex scope and requirements, they managed to deliver the final UI/UX on time and within the given budget. Their focus on communication drove the project forward.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of product management at Reltio. We operate a data management platform for handling customer data. Our team has been operating in the space for about six years. We’re a fast-growing startup and have received recognition for that.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
Our UI/UX had not been upgraded in about six years. The technology it’s built on does not have much adoption anymore and is relatively outdated. We wanted to modernize our UX.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
When we first implemented our UI/UX, it was cutting-edge. However, six years later, the technology was out of date. We wanted the new experience to be much more sophisticated, making use of machine learning and modern APIs. It was also important that their work didn’t stop current operations on the platform.
We wanted it to have a low impact on the platform’s current functionality. After our initial meetings where they provided pricing and a contract, they worked to provide a solution that met those needs.
What is the team composition?
There were two people assigned to the project: one designer and one project manager.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
I was specifically looking for local partners that would require little coaching to understand our complicated project. I’d worked with Momentum Design Lab before, so I reached out. In our discussions, they gave us confidence in their abilities to do that.
They had industry experience that could add value to us. Their team offered strategic input on improving experiences, instead of merely offering upgrades and new features. They cared about user behavior.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve likely invested about $60,000 in their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from March–September 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They weren’t afraid to make some radical design recommendations that would stray away from our current approach during their presentation to staff and leadership. Their suggestions promised high impact and value for our company. That resonated well with our leadership team.
For instance, in their work, they improved our search experience, which allows users to locate data on the platform. It seemed like a simple, primary aspect to the site, but they didn’t hesitate to revamp and elevate that UX.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
I never had to worry about managing the project myself. Our account manager handled setting up meetings, following up, and all aspects of communication. All I needed to focus on were the requirements. We had meetings every 2–3 days and were constantly in touch through Basecamp and Slack. In-person, we met 7–8 times in total. Many of those meetings were at their office for design workshops.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They deliver quality results with professionalism. Their team is always staying honest, hitting their targets, and meeting expectations.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I was pretty satisfied, so I don’t have anything to critique. We would hire them again.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Prepare for your first engagement with them. If you have your ducks in a row, they’ll be able to do critical work without delays. In our case, we did the research and they handled implementation. That worked well.

Momentum Design Lab assisted with the frontend design of an existing product, which led to their development of a new product for an HR services platform. They also focused on data visualization.
In their early stages, both the new product and designs have received positive reactions internally. Presenting on their work and tracking their own progress, the team cultivated an environment promoting open communication. They worked collaboratively, adjusting their work to feedback.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the product director at an HR solutions company specializing in people insights as well as professional, training, and management services.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
Initially, we brought them on to help us redesign an existing product based on user feedback. But, that grew into the articulation of a new product ecosystem. They helped us create a completely new product.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
At the beginning of the project, they presented us with a framework that gave us a glimpse of their typical process. We followed that, tailoring it completely to fit our needs. They designed, developed, and worked on data visualization for the redesign of one of our products. That was the original scope of the work.
However, they ended up leading us through the entire development of a new product that is now one of our main selling points. They delivered a vision, promotional video, and landing page for the new solution.
What is the team composition?
In total, I worked with four of their teammates: two designers, a project manager, and a visual designer. For most of the project, however, I engaged with a core group of three.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
I wasn’t directly involved in the selection of the team—that was handled by our UI/UX team. They created an inial split scheme that came down to two different agencies, and Momentum Design Lab came out on top.
How much have you invested with them?
It cost about $600,000 in total.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from February–August 2019.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It’s a little early still, but they’ve greatly benefitted our businesses. The product designs are still being implemented, but the internal feedback on the prototype has been very positive. In terms of the new product, early reactions to their deliverables from both customers and the internal team have been incredibly positive.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
I couldn’t have asked for a better project manager. They were so on top of tasks, making sure everything was going according to schedule. The team was super organized. We had daily standups and weekly in-depth meetings with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very flexible in incorporating what we wanted into the project. For instance, we didn’t want to put personas at the forefront of our work. Instead, we wanted to focus on the jobs to be done with the product. They were quick with researching this change in execution, capturing it in the final deliverable using the language we wanted.
Overall, the effort was very collaborative. We worked in partnership with their very creative team to push our concepts to the next level. Our team gained a lot more from the partnership than expected. They were instrumental in the new product vision, clearly understanding our business and value add, translating them into strong product design.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not really, I was happy with their services.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Engage with them as if they were an extension of your team. That allows for your relationship to build.

Momentum Design Lab is in the process of developing the UI/UX for the frontend of an integrated software product suite for a radiology industry solution. They used InVision and Zeplin to produce their work.
Despite being in the prerelease phase, internal and external feedback on the designs has been positive. The technical skills and expertise the team has dedicated to the work has saved the client valuable time. Emphatic and detail-oriented, they effectively aligned their designs with overall goals.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of global strategy for software at a large healthcare firm, focusing specifically on the radiology part of our pharmaceutical division.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
We brought on Momentum Design Lab to build the UX for a new set of software products we’re releasing into the market.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Radiology is a $1.4 billion global industry, so we needed to get the UX and front-end right. They’re in the building phase of developing a software program consisting of three interconnected products that provide net new workflows.
Our work began with a discovery phase that was designed to bring them up to speed on our space, workflows, and audience. We did research together to ensure we were capturing the correct language and intent of the product suite. Much of it was meant to bring them up to speed, but they
Then, we transitioned into the UI/UX work. Using InVision and Zeplin, they’ve been worked this entire year on delivering screens that integrate the various part of the suite correctly. Once complete, each component will have a different user focus and profile. Their work is critical in creating a clean, efficient, manageable design for users.
What is the team composition?
Throughout our work, we’ve had a four-person core team including a lead designer, project manager, and other senior leadership. Depending on our resource needs, the team has been as large as six.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
Several years ago, we were looking for software development work through a contracting app. When spoke with Momentum Design Labs, we were very pleased with their design work. After collaborating with them, we felt confident that they were stronger than the other candidates we interviewed.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve spent about $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our formal project kickoff was in August 2018, and we are still working together.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re meaningfully impacted by the amount of time they saved us on the development end. They’ve been able to significantly reduce our burden and positively benefit the company. Also, even in the pre-release phase, our internal and external feedback has been far better than expected.
I’m always recommending them because of the great work they’ve done, especially given our unique workflow and product area. They quickly came up to speed, asking incredibly intelligent questions that validated their thorough understanding of our space.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
They go to every level of detail necessary for success. The reports they turn in are both accurate and timely. While it took us a while to get into a rhythm, communication has been wonderful overall.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They offered a fresh perspective to guide our project. In a large organization, we sometimes have a tendency to stick with the same suppliers who often offer similar ideas. We wanted a new perspective, and Momentum Design Lab delivered. In many ways, they’ve surpassed my expectations for work quality.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything worth noting. It takes time to become familiar with a new partner in any situation, and we were able to be successful in that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Engage them in the beginning, being clear about what you need from them.

After assessing the previous interface and conducting user research, Momentum Design Lab created a revamped UX/UI design for a complex gas and oil software. Their designs are currently being implemented.
Momentum Design Lab provided top-notch frontend designs that are both professional and easy to navigate. While their quality of work is phenomenal, they severely miscalculated the scope, resulting in two additional statements of work. They went far over budget and past initial time estimates.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the CEO of a company that provides software for the oil and gas industry.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
We had initially made the original UI for our software on the cheap, so we approached Momentum Design Lab to make a modern interface that was better looking and easier to use. It’s a pretty large, complicated software solution with a lot of moving parts, so they needed to create a design that could accommodate that.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Momentum Design Lab first did some background research by interviewing our current users and assessing the existing user interface. From that, they generated user profiles, detailing how a user might feel as they went through the software. They then essentially just made all of the wireframes. Since Momentum Design Lab is strictly a design firm, we’re currently having another company build out and implement their work.
What is the team composition?
There were primarily three contacts: Neil (Delivery Lead, Momentum Design Lab), Kevin (UX Director, Momentum Design Lab), and Fernando (UX/UI Designer, Momentum Design Lab).
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
I found them on Clutch, liked what I saw on their website, and talked to several different companies before making a decision.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $150,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Their work lasted from September 2018–January 2019, though we had to extend the project from its original estimate twice.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It was critically important for our product to have a good user interface that is accessible and easy to navigate. Momentum Design Lab largely accomplished those goals and did a really nice job. It’s an excellent design. Despite the complexities of our product, they were able to manage all of the challenges and came up with an elegant, good-looking interface.
Having said that, the project took substantially longer and cost far more money than they initially quoted. It wasn’t even close. After the first phase, they ran out of budget, and the designs weren’t even a third of the way finished.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
They struggled on project management. Kevin and Fernando are good designers and did a great job with the actual output. They were communicative and gathered a lot of feedback as we went through the process, often interacting several times a week.
However, the initial quotes weren’t anywhere close to the final cost and timeline, and the project just wasn’t well-tracked. We expected the final delivery at a certain date, but when we got within a week or two from the deadline, they told us that they would need more time.
Since we needed the UI done, we agreed to do a second statement of work with a new budget and timeframe, but they even ran out of that. We winded up doing a third statement of work, which was pretty complicated, so there might have been some scope creep. But the initial statement of work was woefully too small.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The actual quality of work is really good. They took a lot of complicated pieces in our software and integrated it into a professional, well-organized, and easy-to-navigate design.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Momentum Design Lab should have had a more realistic timeline and budget at the onset. This wasn’t a scope creep situation; rather, they knew what was needed, but the initial estimates were way off.
Part of the issue was that they burned up a lot of the first budget focusing on user mapping and general research. Although I had a pretty clear idea of what I wanted to do, I could see how this was important. It would help them understand what they needed to do and what the user setting was. But they didn’t have enough budget left over to actually execute on the designs.
Ultimately, by the third statement of work, Fernando went into a long period of doing most of the wireframing.

Momentum Design Lab redesigned the UI/UX of a consumer console. After attending a thorough project workshop, they used InVision to create wireframes and mock-ups based on client feedback.
Momentum Design Lab created a fluid frontend interface to streamline existing processes. Their deliverables resolve platform support tickets caused by user error. A dedicated team of designers utilizes project management tools effectively to facilitate a communicative engagement.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a product manager for Twilio. We’re a cloud-based communication platform. Clients use our software to enhance their applications.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
Our consumer console had an extremely dated interface. We’ve grown as a company throughout the last ten years, so we needed a revamp the consumer console with a UI/UX that applies to our larger customers.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Momentum Design Lab started the project by holding a workshop so we could walk them through the existing console’s UX. That process enabled to them understand the platform and what faults to address. After they created some slides illustrating their takeaways, we held another workshop to detail our four customer personas. In response, Momentum Design Lab created wireframes and mock-ups of what they wanted to change.
We continued to meet with them each week as they delivered new UI/UX iterations per our feedback. They used InVision to create the frontend interface, so that made it easy for us to view what changes they made. Our internal design team made suggestions as well. This process continued until they completed the final product.
What is the team composition?
They allocated three resources to our account. Their project manager was our primary point of contact.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
My manager and her manager hired them before I joined the team. They’re local, and our VP had worked with them for a previous company. However, I don’t know exactly how Momentum Design Lab factored into the decision-making process.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $105,000 for their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
This project took place from September–December 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t implemented all of Momentum Design Lab’s deliverables, but our internal team is dedicated to the redesign. They’re working through various mock-ups, so the integration process will lately span multiple quarters. However, the first round of changes will reduce the number of our most common support tickets significantly. The interface will primarily resolve issues related to credit card errors and updating billing addresses.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
We used Slack to stay in contact with them throughout the project. They’d message me directly whenever they had questions or design issues that needed to be addressed. They delivered wireframes once a week at first, but that frequency increased to twice a week as the project continued. They also use Basecamp to document, record, and upload materials from meetings. Their team outlined an aggressive timeline, but they organized the project effectively and accomplished more than I thought possible.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Momentum Design Lab put in the effort to understand the project quickly and develop solutions. Our business model is quite complicated, but they always asked the right questions. Their expertise regarding UI/UX design is phenomenal. Their findings positively influence the way customers interact with our platform. Also, their approach to project management ensured a productive engagement.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they did an excellent job for us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I recommend that other firms hire them. They’re highly professional and treat each client like a valued customer.

Momentum Design Lab helped develop a design system. They began the project and worked on it for several weeks before the work was taken in-house for budgeting reasons.
The work delivered by the Momentum Design Lab team was excellent, with creative, well thought-out, and good value designs providing a solid base off which the internal team is working. Despite the issues with the project’s speed and scope, the team was understanding and responsive.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the principal product manager at a large media network.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
We needed help with the development of a design system.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
In the beginning, we didn’t know exactly what the scope was going to be. That meant we had to start with a discovery phase before they provided the design work to build out elements and components for our design system. They also brought in their expertise around what a design system should look like and helped bound the scope of the project.
They created mood boards to find the direction of the designs, while we provided market research and audience research from our internal team. In the end, they turned over a set of sketch files with component designs for us to build from.
What is the team composition?
I dealt with Steve (SVP, Momentum Design Lab) for executive-level discussion and three people during the daily project communication.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
A friend of mine had worked with them and said they were experts in building design systems and pattern libraries. We needed something quick and didn’t have the energy to vet a lot of firms. I had a limited budget and was told by my colleague that they do good work at a reasonable price. It was an easy decision because I trust his judgment.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $54,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January 2019 for four weeks.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In the end, we didn’t achieve what we set out to in the beginning. We didn’t fully grasp the scope, so we knew that we couldn’t finish the project during one $54,000 contract, to which we are limited at one time. If we want to continue through multiple phases of the project to completion, we have to go back for more money, but we opted not to.
We took the work that they delivered, and my team is now making good progress internally. They gave us a running start, but we didn’t contract it to completion.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
We had some gaps as it took us a little while to realize where the challenges lie. We rushed through the early phase when we should have gone deeper—we didn’t do any user flows and maps. The main reason is we weren’t quite ready, but they started throwing us design layouts and compositions of finished websites.
We had to backtrack because they weren’t heading in the right direction, so we revectored the project to focus on the components and underlying infrastructure of a design system. That went well, and they were able to hand off those components to give us a running start.
They were very understanding and not defensive while we figured out that we needed to do something a little differently. They understood, listened, and worked with us to correct the course. We had daily communication.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really like the designs’ creativity and thoroughness. I was also impressed with the way they presented their ideas and would happily work with them again.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The overall scope of deliverables was loosely defined for each phase, which was way too rushed for us. It was run as a team meeting every single day, and we just couldn’t consume what they were doing with enough time to understand it, get some stakeholder input on it, and provide feedback. All of that was driven by the fact we had a set amount of budget, and they dedicated two designers to the project and a project manager who was basically full-time. It meant we were going to consume the budget in two to three weeks, which wasn’t nearly enough. We needed to spread it out over two to three months.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Define the scope clearly upfront and budget the whole project then. We didn’t get good value, but it doesn’t mean other people wouldn’t. Their overall pricing structure is very competitive, and the value that we did receive was good.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of partnerships for a healthcare company. Our mission is to change the standard American diet. We do that by empowering partners to offer personalized meal plans to their audiences using scalable technology.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
They’re helping us create a product that enables healthcare providers to provide food as medicine.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Momentum Design Lab designed the wireframes for an MVP release of our new product. We hadn’t gotten the visuals finalized yet, but we wanted to focus on executing the wireframes correctly before moving on to the next stage of design. We met them face-to-face and first worked with Mona (VP of Client Services, Momentum Design Lab). She handed off the relationship to two other designers, including a lead resource.
There was a lot of collaboration as we met twice each week. One session involved presenting the deliverables, while the other functioned as a way for my team to offer constructive criticism. They’d go back and implement that feedback into the wireframes. The work wasn’t always perfect, but the end product they delivered was exactly what we asked for when we created our goals and feature documents.
What is the team composition?
In addition to Mona, we worked with two designers and an executive sponsor who showed up every couple of weeks. Different members of our team were in communication with Momentum Design Lab.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
We reached out to about 10 different design companies and went through the process of interviewing them, setting up meetings, and getting proposals. We trusted Mona and felt that she was someone we could have faith in. Their whole team listened well, and that’s a quality we look for in every business relationship. When we met with the team, we felt they showed those qualities. After narrowing down the candidates, Momentum Design Lab was our top choice.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent below $200,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2018, and the final wireframes were delivered to us in October 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Feedback from initial users has been amazing. There have been multiple instances of people referring to the MVP as perfect, unbelievable, and exceptional. After reflecting on the responses we’ve received, we consider the project a success.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
We experienced some ups and downs, but they started to trust us as time went on. We’ve been in this business for a couple of years, so they took the time to internalize our feedback. We steadily began seeing the product coming to life and that was exciting. Like with any relationship, things were uncertain at times, but we’re happy with the end product. At first, communication took place once every 1–2 days. However, we interacted almost daily by the project’s end. Using Slack made the process as efficient as possible.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We appreciate the way they executed a quality design product. However, the project deliverable was cut short due to delays in progress on wireframes. They overestimated their capabilities in this project initially, which hurt the deliverable. In spite of this, they were forthcoming with communication and collaborated effectively.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could take additional measures to make sure our feedback responses are written down, understood, and put back into the work. In other words, not missing little details is essential. Occasionally, we had to ask for deliverables repeatedly, but they eventually listened and heard us. Delivery took a bit longer than expected, but we’re happy with the overall experience.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Clients thinking about hiring them should trust their process, collaborate often, and keep feedback concise. The key to any relationship is open communication.

Momentum Design Labs helped reinvent the UI/UX for a major B2B marketing supply chain platform. They identified best practices and currently handle all aspects of design.
Professionalism, experience, and efficiency set Momentum Design Labs apart. Their team is familiar with the industry and understands how to innovate the user experience. Though still in development, the demo version of the project has already shown great promise in terms of pipeline generation.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a co-founder of Tenovos, which is a global marketing supply chain platform. We serve B2B Fortune 1000 companies.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
We needed some thought leadership to help us reimagine our industry. We’ve acquired a lot of competitors over the years and they all tend to offer the same aesthetics, features, and functionality. We wanted to update our design and user experience to make ourselves stand out.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re heavily involved in the overall design of our platform. We’re still in the early stages, so they’ve helped us identify best practices and they’ve been developing our UI/UX using InVision, Sketch, and Zeplin.
What is the team composition?
Our regular contacts are the VP of client services, our project manager, and a designer. We also occasionally consult with their CEO.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
I found them while researching potential partners. The key reason we reached out to them was that they had experience working with large enterprise software providers, including some of the major players in our space. They understand exactly what we do, so we thought they’d be able to meet our needs.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $60,000–$70,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in August 2018 and the project is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The demo they’ve produced has driven about $15 million in pipeline generation.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve appreciated their professionalism and the pacing of their work. We keep track of most of the project details via Basecamp and then host regular video calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They understand our challenge and carefully consider how to reimagine a user experience that’s existed for 15, maybe 20 years. Their design leadership has really allowed us to capture people’s imaginations regarding what a true enterprise marketing application should look like.
Are there any areas they could improve?
So far, there aren’t any complaints I can think of. We’re planning to bring in their development resources as well, but we aren’t far enough along for me to comment on that.

Momentum Design Lab developed UI/UX designs and strategies to increase user engagement. They worked with proxies for stakeholders to understand customer needs and delivered a proposal in three weeks.
The team finished on schedule and within the budget. They delivered high-quality ideas while also responding and adjusting to feedback. There were a few ambiguities in project management, but they ultimately produced a quality proposal.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of product management for Confirmit. We conduct feedback collection analysis to drive action in areas such as market research, employee engagement, and customer experience.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Momentum Design Lab?
We wanted to increase engagement with our feedback collection software by improving our dashboards' UI/UX and addressing customer input. In addition to securing extra bandwidth, our UX specialists were looking for an outsider’s eye to brainstorm ideas that would drive engagement. Because we wanted to use those ideas for a roadmapping session with our stakeholders, we needed a quick turnaround.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Since we have a lot of experience and understanding of what our customers want, Momentum Design Lab used our internal team of consultants to serve as a proxy for the customer. They came back with strategies to improve user engagement and designs to enhance our software’s UX.
What is the team composition?
Mark (Senior Project Manager, Momentum Design Lab) and Aaron (Principal Design Consultant, Momentum Design Lab) were my primary points of contact.
How did you come to work with Momentum Design Lab?
Our head of UI/UX knew of the team through past experience and recommended them. We approached Momentum Design Lab and were impressed by their responsiveness and quick reaction time.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted three weeks in August 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t implemented the team’s ideas yet because we’re using them to inform our next roadmapping session. However, our internal consulting team felt that Momentum Design Lab’s proposal addressed the customer’s needs very well.
How did Momentum Design Lab perform from a project management standpoint?
Mark and the team delivered their final proposal on time and slightly under budget. They performed well and used great tools for sharing and keeping track of the project.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were highly responsive and delivered against a tight deadline. Aaron was an excellent listener. He came up with ideas, visuals, and designs on par with the leading products in our field. He then incorporated our feedback into the team’s final proposal.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Occasionally, we needed to give them a nudge on the project management side. But, other than that, we were very happy with their work.
Any advice for potential customers?
Definitely take the time to prepare beforehand; know what the project is trying to achieve and who your stakeholders are. However, realize that some of your thoughts will change after engaging with the creative team. They'll come up with ideas that you haven’t thought of yet.
