• The project goal was to assess how AI could help with automatically identifying politically biased content from social media and local government information channels.
• The goal was to analyse how effective machine learning methods for detecting political bias can be; what are the limitations and potential improvements for using these methods, and what are possible further application possibilities for these detection processes.

The solution was reached through an iterative process that began with mapping the current situation and formulating hypotheses. Next, the hypothesis with the greatest potential and value was selected, considering the available data and other technical criteria.

The final outcome was the delivery of a website scraper that allows information from various sources to be compiled into a more accessible collection. AI was tested for different NLP (natural language processing) activities.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As this was mostly an experimental project, we gained insights on where and how to use machine learning methods to optimize our work processes. The delivered data scraper helps us with collecting the data for analysis.

The project management was optimal for this kind of experimental project, we were in contact with the manager and the developer directly when needed. Items were delivered on time, they were produced according to contract. NLP solution did not produce the expected success rate, however - this was partly due to poor training data.

We were satisfied with the expertise of MindTitan and communication was constructive. The experimental project was complex and more resoures to the training of NLP model should have been allocated - but this is also a takeaway for the client.

This project focuses on developing a conversational IVR system designed to enhance customer service by efficiently routing incoming client calls to the appropriate specialist based on the client's spoken inquiry. Ongoing efforts are dedicated to adding additional features and further automating the service, ensuring continuous improvement and integration of new capabilities for consistently better customer support.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The current accuracy of forwarding an incoming call to the appropriate customer service specialist is around 80% in both Estonian and Russian. This has led to an improvement in both accuracy and the time customers spend on forwarding compared to classical IVR. The integration of the callbot has also increased our overall call center technical capabilities, such as offering secure authentication via Smart-ID and Mobile-ID.

Collaboration is agile, meaning we constantly review business and technical needs and priorities. MindTitan fully cooperates in defining and achieving goals based on Elisa’s input, and has made it a priority to ensure that things get done on time.

The aim of the project was to create an AI assistant for oral exams, named EISkratt, which can be integrated with the Estonian exam information system to help examinees perform oral exams more efficiently. The work included software development, design, machine learning, and consultation.

The outputs achieved as a result of the project:

• An initial prototype of the AI assistant for oral exams was created and integrated with the exam environment.
• The solution was tested in real conditions with actual users.
• Feedback was received on the ideal process for conducting an oral exam and the technical requirements.
• The project results can be applied in real use, and the next steps are known.

A functioning EISkratt. As the project was carried out in agile small steps, we were able to test the EISkratt and observe and test all the functionalities in the emergent order in online mode.

We started by providing the data to MindTitan. They analysed it and proposed ways to execute a successful PoC. They also helped to set up the whole pipeline to create a smooth demo flow for the project. After the project went past the PoC stage and into the full stage, we worked together on a weekly basis until we managed to scale up our internal resources and proceed on our own.

Their co-founder and Data Science lead was involved hands-on and spent several sleepless nights together with our internal team to pull everything together for successful delivery on the deadline.
