Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the partnership manager of a software development company. We focus on connecting the supply chain from farmers to consumers through a collaborative effort.

What challenge were you trying to address with Middlestate?

We needed someone to help us with digital marketing and UI/UX design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Middlestate has been helping us with advertising, marketing, and UI/UX design for our products. They’ve also done website development for us, among other tasks — It’s been an iterative process with several projects.

In terms of UI/UX design, their team is involved in customer discussions around what we’re developing for them. They’re closely involved with the different project’s discovery phases so they can understand the opportunity we’re trying to address and get into their work. After their job is done, it goes through an approval process with a feedback loop with our clients and us to decide if it’s going into the final product.

As far as the website development process, they learn about the audience we’re trying to reach and ultimately go into the design and development processes. Their developed site also goes through feedback sessions for approval. 

For the digital marketing campaigns, we work with them in email drives and automation for events that we’re trying to promote out to the marketplace.

What is the team composition?

Depending on the project, we work with different team members, including their product design side, digital marketing team, and web development group.

How did you come to work with Middlestate?

We were looking for a team to work closely with that could be as dedicated to our mission as we are. We chose them because they seemed dedicated to our team and humble.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $100,000 with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re a phenomenal team to work with. They give their all and have been patient with our pace and the nature of our business — Middlestate’s team ensures to rise to the occasion, no matter what it is, to deliver top-quality products. In terms of their work, we’ve received positive feedback from our end users, especially on the UI/UX design side — it’s slick, clean, and easy to use, and we attribute that to them. 

Regarding the website development and marketing, they’ve increased the audiences we reach and our customer base.

How did Middlestate perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re fantastic! Their team is communicative, agile, and takes their time to understand our needs and requirements. In terms of tools, we’ve used Slack, Monday.com, and online meetings to give feedback and make sure that we’re updated on the projects.

In addition, they’re open to hearing feedback and how they can improve as a team both in their skill set and how they deliver — that’s always helpful because they’re constantly improving themselves.

What did you find most impressive about them? 

Their desire and dedication to understanding our business and projects are outstanding. Other teams won’t bother putting extra effort into engaging with our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on. 

Any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to give them a high level of what you’re trying to achieve. If they clearly understand and connect to your wants and needs, they’ll deliver according to your expectations.
