MetaGeek was born when founder Ryan Woodings needed a way to troubleshoot a wireless device he was programming and got tired of fighting with 25 other engineers to use the one big, heavy, expensive spectrum analyzer the company could afford to have on site. So, he created the Wi-Spy, which enabled software-based spectrum analysis right from his laptop.
