Median Labs (medianfi.com) is the finance team for owner-led businesses and US startups.

Most owners get their books back weeks after the month they describe, once the decisions have already been made. Median works the other way around. Your bank, card, payroll and billing feeds map into a general ledger, AI categorizes and posts transactions every business day, and an accountant who knows your business reviews the exceptions. Your books stay current, so when you need a number you get it the same day you ask.

Clean books are the foundation of the work, not the finished product. Owners want to know which clients, products and people are profitable against what they cost, where the money went and what changed, and how much runway is really left. We build the reporting and analysis that answer those questions on top of your live numbers.

We hire accountants and we build our own software. The software carries the volume that used to be a full week of data entry, and the accountant on your account carries the judgment and is one message away in Slack, email or text. You always know the name of the person doing your books.

We work in QuickBooks Online or Xero, or we can move you onto the platform we built. Migration is free and the price is the same either way. Pricing is metered on your active financial accounts and transaction volume. Engagements are month to month with no term commitment. Tax filing and R&D credit work are separately quoted add-ons.
