We needed help with air freight logistics to meet our timelines.

What was the scope of their involvement?
McMahon Airborne Logistics helps us with materials pickup and delivery using their helicopter fleet. We have a couple of deliveries with them per year.

What is the team composition?
McMahon Airborne Logistics is a smaller operation but still has an organizational structure. I know at least three of their teammates, but we work closely with their president the most.

How did you come to work with McMahon Airborne Logistics?
We basically found them through a referral. McMahon Airborne Logistics had already worked with our team in Indiana.

What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them around August 2022, and we’re still working with them. We use them as needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
McMahon Airborne Logistics provides top-notch door-to-door services. Their entire staff has exceeded our expectations. With their services, we've shortened the travel period of our deliveries.

How did McMahon Airborne Logistics perform from a project management standpoint?
McMahon Airborne Logistics' communication is always top-of-the-line — our back-and-forth usually happens within minutes. They always update us throughout the delivery process to let us know where they stand. When needed, we simply use their customer service line. Their app is very helpful in tracking our deliveries as well. Their team definitely has tools and resources available to support the process. 

What did you find most impressive about them?
The level of service we get from McMahon Airborne Logistics is outstanding. Their work is streamlined and straightforward.

Are there any areas they could improve?
Based on their current scope, there's nothing McMahon Airborne Logistics could improve on. It would be great if they were able to fly a bigger aircraft, which they don't have available, or if they could fly in bad weather, which they can't control.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Be upfront with what you need and allow them to quote the best service available.

What challenge were you trying to address with McMahon Airborne Logistics?

We wanted to improve our speed of transit from Michigan to Illinois for expedited cargo, so we hired McMahon Airborne Logistics.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

McMahon Airborne Logistics provides us with helicopter cargo services. As an automotive manufacturing company, we require auto parts. We have a heavy supply base in Michigan, so we leverage McMahon Airborne Logistics' helicopters to move parts to us quickly.

McMahon Airborne Logistics' service includes first-mile pick-up. This means that they pick up our auto parts from our suppliers and take them back to their helicopter pad. Then, they fly those parts to us via a helicopter and land right at our facility so we can receive them on time.

Still, our engagement is collaborative. For example, if our supplier doesn't have room for McMahon Airborne Logistics' helicopter to actually land, we do the pick-up and bring the products to them so that they can fly them for us. Still, when convenient, they do the pick-up themselves.

What is the team composition?

I work with Nick (President) and John (Director of Logistics).

How did you come to work with McMahon Airborne Logistics?

We met them in 2022 at an auto supply chain and logistics show held annually in Detroit.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent close to $500,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in October 2022, and our engagement is ongoing. Our work is transactional, so I give them opportunities to work for us as we have them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

McMahon Airborne Logistics is a great team. Although our relationship is transactional, they've set the bar so high that they're now our only provider.

How did McMahon Airborne Logistics perform from a project management standpoint?

McMahon Airborne Logistics provides tracking links, so we constantly know where the material is. Moreover, they over-communicate. If I have a question, I can call them at any time, and it's not uncommon that when I call, either John or Nick are flying on the helicopter as we speak. They're a very hands-on team that gives us critical information as we need it. I can't say enough good things about them. We communicate via phone and email.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Both Nick and John have exceeded my expectations. They do a fabulous job for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What truly comes across as their most impressive quality is their work ethic. It's very clear that Nick, as the head of the company, is very involved in the daily operations and recognizes that his name and brand are what he has built. He constantly wants to demonstrate that they're the best in the industry. They accept that challenge every day and approach every day with the goal of reestablishing their brand and making it clear that they do a great job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no constructive feedback for McMahon Airborne Logistics. I can only advise them to increase their fleet and replicate what they do in other areas. I would be happy to support them in other regions of our country.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

What McMahon Airborne Logistics does is great and sets them apart, so I wouldn't change the recipe for success.
