Materija is a family-owned company, which has employed mostly female architects of various generations since its very beginning, so it can be said that the company combines maturity and experience with new and fresh ideas in the best possible way. Materija's procurator and founder, Vesna Kresnik Vojnović (born 1954 in Zagreb), is a licensed architect (license number: 426) and an active member of the Croatian Chamber of Architects, in which she participates in the work of the Chamber Assembly, of which she is a member. Vesna Kresnik Vojnović has been a project manager since the early days of her career (since 1986), and has also won awards in architectural competitions. In her long and rich career as a chief designer, she has worked on more than 150 projects.
Materia is managed by director Irena Vojnović, a licensed architect, who has been employed by the company since 2009. In addition to her degree from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Zagreb, she also holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Architecture from IED in Turin (Istituto Europeo di Design), under the mentorship of the world-renowned Italian architect of sustainable architecture, Mario Cucinella.
Materia has developed projects and obtained permits for all phases of projects for numerous international companies in Croatia, including Spar, INA, Billa, McDonalds, Nike, Raiffeisen bank, KFC. As well as for numerous Croatian companies, including Adris grupa dd, Sunčani Hvar, Zagreb Fair, City of Zagreb and others.
