Mate & Mate is a small London design studio run by senior people. We design websites, apps and pitch decks for startups and growing businesses, and we stay with the product from the first sketch to the files your developers build from.

Most clients come to us with something half-built: a store that doesn’t sell, an app that confuses people, or a deck that doesn’t explain the idea. We find what’s getting in the way, fix the structure first, and then make it look great.

We work as an extension of your team. Before any visual design, we agree on structure: references, a moodboard and wireframes for each page or screen. By the time we get to UI, you already know what the product will look like and why. The process has four stages: – Research and information architecture – High-fidelity wireframes – UI design for desktop and mobile – Design system and handoff in Figma We stay in touch every day in Slack or Notion and hold a review call at the end of each stage.

Two or three. That is the only way to keep senior people on every project and still move fast. If we can’t start straight away, we’ll tell you honestly when we can.

Short updates every day in Slack, Teams or Notion, plus a review call at each milestone. You talk directly to the designers, so questions get answered quickly. The Figma files stay open to you the whole time, so you can check progress whenever you like.

It usually takes a couple of days. We start with a call about your goals, users, competitors and technical limits. You share whatever you already have: brand guidelines, research, analytics or old designs. We set up a shared channel, run a quick UX audit, agree the plan and milestones, and start on structure and wireframes.

Before launch, we test our decisions: every layout and user flow goes through Momus, our own UX audit tool, and is checked against conversion best practices. After launch, we look at the numbers that matter to you: sales, conversion rate, sign-ups and retention.
