I’m the COO of Playbook Technologies, a creator economy company in the fitness and wellness space. We work with fitness creators and influencers, building tools and services for them to grow their businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Market Disrupt?

We needed help managing our media buying and paid ads.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially hired Market Disrupt to handle our company's advertising. Currently, they run different ad accounts across our influencer portfolio and our ad account. They also help build creative websites for our funnels. We’ve layered in HubSpot, our CRM admin, and email marketing.

Essentially, the full marketing and marketing ops stack runs through them. Market Disrupt helps us run ads on Meta, Instagram, Google, and Reddit. Besides, they write the copy for our email marketing efforts and handle the automation of these campaigns.

What is the team composition?

We work with around five people. I mainly work with Philip, the founder, but there's also a HubSpot person, an ad strategist, a designer, and a copywriter.

I found them on Upwork.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to Market Disrupt, we’ve had positive growth in all our ads and double-digit revenue growth pretty much every month on the projects their team helps us with. All the ads are profitable, which is the most important thing. Market Disrupt has grown with our business.

How did Market Disrupt perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re amazing. They’re always available, and I talk with Philip almost every day. They’re always on time, if not early, which is the best part about working with them.

They have used Asana for a while but adapted to our internal use of Notion. In fact, another great thing about Market Disrupt is that they adapt to what the client is using. We mainly communicate via Slack, Loom videos, and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Market Disrupt has truly been a partner. There’s no hour of the day when they’re not responsive and not thinking about the actual business goals rather than just the narrow project.

They’ve grown very quickly, so their capabilities are pretty wide. If there’s a need from a marketing perspective, they’re quick to bring in talent. For example, if we need help with copywriting, they have a copywriter within days. If we want to start running TikTok ads, they will hire a TikTok expert. Overall, they’re very quick to add capabilities to their team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, none really come to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Share your broader, higher-level business goals because they can help you get there. Rather than worrying about parceling out narrow project objectives, communicate the bigger picture to them. Market Disrupt has a lot of capabilities and functions best as a business partner.

Market Disrupt was hired to streamline activities within Hubspot and Asana and improve processes between the two using third party tools such as Zapier. automations within Hubspot itself, and other workflows. They also provided consulting related to individual PPC campaigns, process management, and digital marketing strategies.

Greater efficiency is task related to lead nurturing, client onboarding, and general project management outcomes.
