Proteus VR Labs is proud to announce Freefly FF3 – a hybrid AR and virtual reality headset ready to provide the ultimate window to all variations of immersive technology in a single device.
Having enjoyed great success with the award-winning Freefly VR and Freefly VR Beyond, Proteus VR Labs have spent over a year developing an entirely new breed of headset that delivers wide field of view mixed reality experiences powered by smartphones. Mixed reality is expected to transform the way people access digital content. It is a more immersive version of augmented reality that, rather being consumed looking at a phone, the virtual objects are stereoscopic when seen through dual views, putting the virtual objects ‘in the world’ of the viewer.

Traditionally bass clarinets are approximately 1.4m long, with holes along most of their length. In order for the holes to be reached, an extensive system of levered keys is required. The client for this project wanted to use CAD and 3D printing technologies to design and produce a bass clarinet that can be played without the need for keys.
LUMA helped the team at Mason Cycles to design and prototype their new ‘Shutter’ mudguard for their range of long-distance off-road bicycles. The mudguard can carry 2Kg of kit, making use of a typically underutilised space. The prototypes were 3D printed in sections and then glued together and painted for demonstration at a bicycle show in 2018.
Design, development and production run of 8 units for Guinness” The Guinness ‘Belief Test’ sets true fans apart as it works out whether they believe in their team’s chances. The test will be available for fans to try throughout the tournament at the following bars: The Cabbage Patch, Flat Iron Square, The Three Sisters, Oasthouse and The Kiwi’s Bar” It was challenging to model the distinctive Guinness shield onto the “glass”, but as with anything trying a few approaches until we got the surfacing right worked out. We could get sign off by rendering the units in Keyshot from our highly detailed Solidworks model.
