The Lucas Company incorporated in 1980 for general business purposes. Between 1972 and 1980 the company operated as a sole proprietorship under David M. Lucas, PE. In January of 1993 the firm changed its name to Lucas-Forman, Inc. Presently the owners/principals in the firm are Arthur F. Forman, PE, PLS, and Matthew J. Lucas, PLS.
Lucas-Forman as successor to David M. Lucas, PE, has over 40 years of land surveying and civil engineering experience in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area. The firm performs surveys ranging from residential mortgage surveys to surveying an 1100-acre McDowell Nature Preserve and 1300-acre Latta Nature Preserve for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department. We have provided engineering services for retail centers as large as 200,000 square feet, industrial subdivisions up to 110 acres, office and business development, apartment and condominium projects, and residential subdivisions as large as 300 acres and 700 lots.
