Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of special events and business development at Events DC, an entity that’s comprised of DC’s tourism, conventions, and sports authority. The goal is to get people visiting and to spend money in DC to benefit the economic impact and taxable revenue for the city.

What challenge were you trying to address with Linda Roth Associates?

My team produces programming that promotes DC as more than a federal city. We hired Linda Roth Associates for services that would generate event awareness from a media perspective.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team at Linda Roth Associates runs a lot of our PR and marketing services. Along with generating event awareness and ticket sales, they help with event logistics depending on the case. We contract them for events, and they push that event to their media contacts.

After that, their team comes up with a marketing communications plan comprised of ad sales and other factors. After receiving our approval, they would take the plan by keeping the goal of generating ticket sales in mind.

We worked with a team of 3–5. Anthony (President) is our main point of contact.

Every project they’ve done for us has been a win. There’s been increases in ticket sales and media awareness. Their work quality is flawless.

How did Linda Roth Associates perform from a project management standpoint?

They have great attention to detail. If their team says that they will do something, they will do it. Depending on the project, we communicate daily or hourly. We never are in the dark about anything. Our teams use Google Docs primarily, but we have in-person meetings and speak through phone, email, and text.

What makes Linda Roth Associates unique is their ability to understand what a win is for their clients. They can determine whether it’s internal or external, or it’s a financial or brand awareness they’re looking for. Their team can easily put themselves in their client’s shoes.
