Linemaster Switch Corporation has designed and manufactured foot controls in Woodstock, Connecticut, since 1952. We partner with medical device OEMs and industrial equipment manufacturers on standard and fully custom foot switches, from surgical, imaging, and dental systems to agriculture, construction, and defense equipment.
Our catalog includes 250 products across electrical, pneumatic, linear, and RF wireless foot controls, and we build more than one million units a year. For custom programs, our in-house engineering team takes OEMs from application requirements to a working prototype in as little as two weeks, then into production at 100 to 100,000+ units a year.
Custom options include pedal action, actuation force, and form factor; colors, branding, and labels; connectors and cord sets; and wired or wireless configurations. Each OEM program gets a dedicated project manager and engineering support, along with complete regulatory compliance documentation.
Safety features such as redundant sensing, electrical isolation, and environmental sealing are designed in from the start. Our foot controls are manufactured under an ISO 13485 certified quality management system, with tooling, molding, and assembly done in-house in Connecticut.
We also offer a free one-day technical workshop at OEM partners’ facilities, covering foot switch integration, wireless systems and cybersecurity, and design pitfalls to catch before they become field failures.

Our Story
It started in 1937. Albert Simonds was building optical grinding equipment and saw that operators needed a way to control it without taking their hands off the work, so he built a foot switch. In 1952 that idea became Linemaster, and we still design and build them on the same Woodstock, Connecticut site. We’re privately held and family led, and our mission hasn’t changed: a superior foot control at an affordable price, without compromise. Integrity and quality come first.
