Legorreta

Since our founding in 1965 by Ricardo Legorreta, Noé Castro, and Carlos Vargas Sr. as Legorreta Arquitectos (now LEGORRETA®), we have remained faithful to our original goal of creating the best architecture inspired by human values.

At LEGORRETA®, we seek to create architecture that meets the needs of society while contributing to the construction of better cities. Achieving functionality, efficiency, and cost control, we design friendly and humane environments with atmospheres that convey peace, intimacy, and optimism. 

During the 1960s and 1970s, we were recognized for projects in Mexico, such as the Camino Real Hotels in Mexico City, Cancún, and Ixtapa; the offices of Seguros América, Banamex, and IBM Mexico; laboratories for Smith Kline and French, as well as factories for Kodak, Nissan, and Renault; in addition to housing projects for both social interest institutions and private residential projects for Infonavit. 

In the 1980s, we began designing projects abroad, in places like the United States and some Central American countries, successfully collaborating with local architects. This fostered ongoing contact with clients, enhanced knowledge of local regulations and codes, and assisted in the preparation of construction documents. 

In the early 1990s, Víctor Legorreta joined the firm, leading a group of young architects. Together with Ricardo Legorreta, they directed the design of all projects until the end of 2011. 

In 2000, we changed our firm's name to LEGORRETA + LEGORRETA®, representing more than just a name; it represents the new organization of the firm. Under this new organizational structure, we carried out projects in Europe, Asia, North America, Latin America, and the Middle East.
