I’m a product manager at a software company that serves as a parent company to other companies working in different technology stacks.

What challenge were you trying to address with Lectus?

Initially, we were doing a project that included integrations with a lot of existing channels and needed additional support.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Lectus provides us with engineers to help us execute our project — we provide project management support. They support our AI tool development projects using LXI, IBM Watson, and Dataflow. Their team also provides some web development support. 

What is the team composition?

We have direct contact with their developers. 

How did you come to work with Lectus?

We found Lectus on Upwork; we liked their approach to the work. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested $30,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our long-term, ongoing relationship began in February 2022. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

In terms of quality, there are some bugs in the deliverables, but they are removed after 1–2 iterations. We’re satisfied with the quality of the work they’ve delivered. 

How did Lectus perform from a project management standpoint?

We had to occasionally push Lectus to get projects done on time. However, those issues always happen during development. So, we now have a more hands-on approach to project management to ensure projects are delivered on time. Most of our communication is through Asana and Microsoft Teams, but we also use email and WhatsApp. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a team of very smart developers — whatever problems we have, they have a solution for them. Lectus’ team is knowledgeable about their industry. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their project management could improve. They’d become a fully independent development team if they had a project manager. Also, because their timelines weren’t structured well, they had difficulty delivering on multiple projects simultaneously. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Before hiring Lectus, have a strong project management plan. It’s also important to have direct contact with Lectus’ developers.
