I’m the head of content at Marimekko, a Finnish lifestyle design company known for its distinctive prints and colors. We offer clothing, bags, accessories, and home décor items through global retail and online stores.

We hired Krista Kärki for visual identity design, art direction, and 360° roll-out planning for marketing campaigns.

Can you describe the scope of work Krista Kärki handled for this project?

Krista Kärki handled a wide range of projects from initial concept to final execution and asset production, combining high-quality craft and attention to detail. Key projects included the interactive digital experience for Marimekko's 70th anniversary, art direction and 360° roll-outs for the Spring/Summer and Holiday campaigns, the visual identity for the Field of Flowers tour, the art direction and direction of the new Marimekko brand film, and the redesign of the outlet identity, alongside numerous other visual and brand initiatives.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Overall, we were impressed with the decisiveness and usability of the assets across various touchpoints. Krista Kärki is a strategic designer with a strong eye for detail who works efficiently while consistently maintaining a high standard of quality.

Krista Kärki always met the deadlines and followed up on the projects.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Krista Kärki has the ability to design cohesive omnichannel brand experiences, connecting every touchpoint through a clear visual direction and a strong attention to detail.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As we were based in different countries, we worked primarily remotely, which worked well. That said, I would have enjoyed more face-to-face collaboration.
