BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

A Telecom Software Vendor, with focus in Value Added Services Platforms in compliance with 3GPP/GSMA/ETSI/OMA standards. We also provide Network software-based nodes to fulfill Goverment Regulation and Mandates. I am the Business Development Manager in charge of growth in Market Presence and in bringing new projects to the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Kinetix, and what were your goals?

We have requested Kinetix to develop some software components to be used as part of a messaging platform solution for a Mobile Telecom Operator in LATAM that we developed. The components included an SMS Gateway, a library to provide Diameter charging, a library to provide dynamic complex charging/spam/routing rules, a library to provide anti-spam policies, and a web front end to configure the whole solution.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We knew the team from previous projects with other companies and selected them due to their sense of responsibility, commitment and excellent technical knowledge.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of the Project was not 100% defined at the beginning, so we worked based on 2 week sprints, where we planed the sprint together, and review the results every 2 weeks.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The Kinetix team was composed by a software architect, 2 senior full stack developers, 1 junior full stack developer, 1 senior tester. The team had deep telecom technologies knowledge including SMPP, Diameter, MAP, SIP, among other.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Kinetix team did a great job with mostly all the all tasks we gave to them. The software pieces had a great quality and required minimum changes after quality assurance review.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Kinetix provided all the deliverables on time, with the agreed scope, and the expected quality. They were very flexible to adapt to scope changes that were required during the project. We are very satisfied, we highly recommend them!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was always supportive as if they were an extension of ours, helping us in every aspect of the project. It was great to work with a team with high technical and business knowledge, that required no training and started to deliver great value from the first day.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can’t think of anything, I would like them to do the same on the next project !
