BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and owner of Memortrips. Last year, I decided to form a company in the travel space. I wanted to be able to market affiliate products from places like Trip Advisor and Booking.com and personalize the tools for travelers who plan to visit the Philippines.

What challenge were you trying to address with Jamalta Digital Marketing?

Our venture required an online presence, so we needed a website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jamalta Digital Marketing helped us with digital marketing and website development. Then, we asked them to help us with SEO. Initially, we approached them for web development, but as the project progressed, we developed confidence in them and expanded the scope.

Firstly, the website work included design and development. They used Figma for the design, and the website was developed on WordPress so a non-technical person like me could manage it from the backend. We needed to be able to create many blog posts and have many tools and activities. We didn’t want to depend on a coder to do everything for us, so we chose a CMS.

Since I came from a marketing background, I provided them with a basic list of research I’d done for SEO. Their scope was mainly focused on the implementation of what I gave them. We focused on two platforms where we get most of our business and connected them with the tools I used for my research.

What is the team composition?

They had a team with a contact person who acted as the project manager. We were in touch with him, feeding him all the information and requirements, and he dealt with the development team.

How did you come to work with Jamalta Digital Marketing?

I studied and lived in the Philippines, so I decided to contact an agency from there. We wanted to achieve everything quickly, and they were able to start working right away.

How much have you invested in them?

We spent close to $10,000. The site’s development was one project, and the SEO was a different project. We agreed on a lump sum for those, and there’s a monthly retainer for the ongoing marketing activities.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from April–June 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In terms of qualitative results, time was the only resource we didn’t have, so we were strict about the timeline. We were happy that their project management was excellent, and they delivered on time.

How did Jamalta Digital Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was excellent. Communication was great; it was one of the reasons we wanted to deal with a local company. Moreover, since I lived there and understood the Filipino people and culture, I had no issues dealing with them.

We usually communicated through Viber, which had group sharing capability, so we used to share and demonstrate through there. We also used Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We expected many things from the UX/UI, and they delivered accordingly. They were good, responsive partners.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could hire more creative people in the UI area. They were excellent at coding and marketing, but the design was one area they could improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t hesitate to deal with them. Even if you have something they might be unsure of, they accept it and get back to you once they do the research.
