Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CEO and Co-Founder at Handsoncode, the company that stands behind Handsontable, one of the most popular front-end tools for JavaScript developers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire ITFS?

We needed to find an experienced full-stack developer to extend our existing technical team responsible for developing Handsontable, and delivering associated consulting services for our customers.

How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

The ITFS company was recommended to us by one of our customers.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The assigned developer by ITFS was responsible for adding new features to our JavaScript library, including the support for RTL layout direction (right-to-left), accessibility enhancements, performance review, layout reorganization, and more.

Describe the recruitment process in detail.

The process was straightforward because we already knew that the company was worth our trust - the company was recommended to us by someone who we trust. ITFS provided us with a consistent offer which turned out to be financially attractive.

We were walked through the process smoothly by their Account Manager. They provided us with 3 suitable candidates, and we hired one of them after 2 interview calls. We entered into an agreement for no less than 12 months.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We've been able to short the time to market with our product thanks to the outsourcing services delivered by ITFS. Another positive outcome would be that our team learned a lot from the outsourced full-stack developer - we've been able to improve our QA and documentation processes.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The collaboration with ITFS has proved to be easy. We treated their developer as a part of our team from day one.  The ITFS developer gained an access to our internal communication channels, got a dedicated email inbox, and is now an essential part of the core development team at Handsoncode.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They provided us with a developer with more than 10 years of experience in the field of JavaScript engineering at a reasonable price. We also appreciated that they were responsive, and proactively monitored our satisfaction level. Also, they offered us an onboarding process during which they walked us through the nuances of the collaboration basics.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We found the outsourcing solutions provided by ITFS easy to manage, and we're very happy with what we got so far.
