Catch-up and cleanup work is a core part of what I do, and there's zero judgment involved. We'll figure out where things stand, build a plan to get you current, and put a system in place so you don't end up back in the same spot. Whether you're a few months behind or a few years behind, the first step is always the same: a conversation about where you are right now.

I work with small businesses and high-net-worth individuals across a range of industries, with particular depth in legal bookkeeping, including trust accounting, retainers, and client cost tracking for law firms using Clio, CosmoLex, or similar platforms. I've also worked extensively with construction, agriculture, retail, hospitality, and wellness businesses. If your industry has quirks most bookkeepers don't understand, there's a good chance I've already worked through them with another client.

I work primarily in QuickBooks Online and I'm a certified ProAdvisor, so that's where I'm strongest and where I'd recommend landing if you're not already there. That said, I can usually work within whatever system you're currently using while we transition, so you're never stuck without support during the switch. For payroll, I frequently use Gusto, and for legal clients I integrate with Clio, CosmoLex, or Caret depending on what your firm already runs.

Pricing depends on the scope of work, your transaction volume, and whether we're talking about ongoing monthly bookkeeping versus a one-time catch-up or cleanup project. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all pricing because no two businesses look the same on the books. The best next step is a quick conversation about where your business stands now, so I can put together a proposal that actually reflects your needs instead of a generic package that doesn't quite fit.

A bookkeeper handles the day-to-day: recording transactions, reconciling accounts, categorizing expenses, and keeping your financial records accurate and current. An accountant typically works at a higher level, preparing tax returns, offering tax strategy, and handling more complex financial analysis. Think of bookkeeping as the foundation your accountant builds on. Clean, current books make tax season smoother and give your accountant better information to work with, which is exactly why the two roles work best together, not as substitutes for one another.
