We hired Iriscan to help us build a real-time video chat that would securely connect two parties. Our goals were to create a new product MVP, test hypotheses, do customer and buyer research, and then scale the product development.

We were impressed by the volume of work they completed, their creativity in getting all of our needs met and addressed, and how well they communicated with us. They have been a pleasure to work with.

We communicated via video a few times in the past several months so that we could hammer out our product's specific needs, e.g. extra security measures such as stream encryption, multi-factor authentication, and an encrypted database. Iriscan used various plug-ins to fulfill all of our requirements which I wasn't familiar with before.

We collaborated with around 5 individuals from the Iriscan team, who have experience in development, quality assurance, and product management.

Iriscan made sure that even the most complicated needs for this project were met with ease. The constant communication and efficiency of the team were wonderful to experience, making this project a breeze.

We had the only goal – to create a website representing our company and sell our services with this website.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected this vendor on the personal recommendation of our friend who had already worked with this company, and their positive experience of cooperation was the main deciding factor. Moreover, we talked to representatives and liked clarity in communication and the fact that they responded quickly enough and clearly answered our questions before the cooperation stage.

The website was developed on WordPress with WooCommerce and custom payment module integration. The custom module provides the card payments through the website. There were four steps:

1. development of content and creation of the structure;
2. design;
3. implementation;
4. deployment, testing and bug fixing.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As the result of the project, the website was created, 100% of sales and marketing operations were done through it. We serve customers monthly using this website.

We talked to them on Skype. Mainly, it was correspondence. Periodically, if we had to discuss some big complicated tasks, we agreed on a call, and usually, it happened pretty quickly. They answered during the working day, and we also had calls soon at a time convenient for them and us. So in terms of communication, there were no problems.

Maybe they used some project management platforms and tools inside their company, but it didn't matter and didn't apply to us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

First of all, I really like their clear position on the options for implementing our tasks. I liked their focus on budget savings, they did not create unnecessary work, and they are always looking for the most convenient and cheapest option for implementing necessary things.

They are always in touch, and it is very nice to communicate with them even as people, so we still maintain relations even outside of this project, which we have already completed. They were always ready to consult and support any issues concerning the web app.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We are very satisfied with their work overall. At the end of our work we provided a recommendation to gather the software requirements information using a standard questionnaire form along with the conversations.

Lead software engineer for a moneylendending company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Iriscan, and what were your goals?

The goal was to switch an existing multi-platform mobile app user account and access management layers from Cognito Hosted UI to AWS Amplify Components using the available Figma designs. Add the biometric unlock feature to the app. The task was time-sensitive.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Vendor was selected based on the experience shown, testimonials provided, adequate estimates and level of task understanding demonstrated during the interview.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The project steps in priority order were:

1. Switch from WebView Authentication to Native Authentication. The API uses OAuth JWT authentication and the OAuth server uses code grants.
2. Apply the styles found on Figma for the native screens. Some of them are already there.
3. Allow to use biometric/pin authentication. The value that gets saved onto the mobile secure storage is the refreshToken and not the user's username/password. With the refreshToken, the app exchanges it with the OAuth server to retrieve an id/access Token.

The application was implemented using React Native Framework. The task was completed using “react-native-keychain” and “amplify-js” libraries.

I worked with Artem and Slava who provided the software development expertise.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The task was implemented in the specified time estimate while keeping the high standard of digital security and sensitive data protection.

We communicated in writing. They were always responsive and available. The task was completed in a timely manner.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I like the ability to find solutions to complex technical problems and a proactive attitude to problem-solving.

Nothing, at least not to my knowledge.

We found them through a freelancing site where we uploaded the project requirements. Several prospects were interviewed, and Iriscan's talent stood out, so we gave them a project to test their skills, and we were very satisfied with their work.

We’ve spent under $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2016, and it’s still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve done a great job with the code. I have some background in software development, so I can see that the software Iriscan built is great. Furthermore, our prospective and current clients have all really liked our app’s interface compared to our competitors’ apps.

How did Iriscan perform from a project management standpoint?

Iriscan is a very efficient team — they accomplish milestones within a short timeframe. The team knows what they’re doing and is great at putting everything together. In terms of communication, we use phone calls, chats, and emails.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Whenever I assign tasks, the Iriscan team accomplishes them without needing guidance — they think outside the box and solve problems independently. Overall, the software is very good, and I’m pleased with their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything they can do better.

I’m an individual entrepreneur with a professional background in information technology, in particular, software quality assurance.

For what projects/services did your company hire Iriscan, and what were your goals?

The aim was to create a freelance marketplace for software quality assurance services. The platform was designed to have a simple yet full-scale project management system for issue tracking. Platform requirements included:

• In-built full-text search engine for searching through the job postings and freelancer profiles
• Efficient file storage for storing the file attachments
• Load balancing
• Load testing prior to production release. I had a software requirement specification that had to be transformed into the working software platform

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I selected this vendor because of the positive recommendations coming out of my network. The interview with them confirmed the high level of professionalism and work standards.

Having only the software requirement specification at the project start, we went through several iterations of project design together. First off, use-cases were created. Based on this, GUI wireframes were implemented and the software architecture was proposed to me for approval. After approving the software architecture, the implementation phase has started. Guys were independent during this stage and I trusted their expertise on the best programming practices. After finalizing the implementation, we went through the successful testing of high-load capabilities of the platform. After completing this stage, we went through the GUI improvements which concluded the project. QA Lance is a web application so users interact with it using a browser.

On a client side, the javascript framework Angular JS was used for creating the single page application. Spring Web Flow was used for navigation. Data interchange between client and server was implemented using JSON REST API, which was designed with further extension to the mobile applications in mind. Ngnix web server was used for front end load balancing. Back end programming language was Java, with Spring framework and Jetty web server. Spring Security was used for authentication, authorization and user access management. Spring JTA and Hibernate was used for connecting with the Postgres database which used Slony replication system and PGPool load balancing.

I worked closely with Artem, who was the tech team lead, and Slava who is a lead engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Considering the complexity of the task, I am extremely satisfied with the result we were able to achieve together with them. One of the top priorities for this project was the ability of the platform to maintain a high amount of user connections simultaneously and to scale even further in the future. The software product was robust and was able to handle 3 thousands of requests, which significantly exceeded my expectations.

Project management style was very comfortable for me as a client. They are able to think out of the box, provide effective solutions to existing problems and do not need a step by step guidance for making things happen. The communication was timely, to the point and extremely professional. We used remote communication tools a lot, including video and audio meetings.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their technical expertise was outstanding. They were also very proactive and can always come up with creative solutions in a technical space which require the above mentioned expertise.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything was fine as it was.
