DSaaS (Data Science as a Service) Dedicated Team Support data and analytics engineering demands, prioritizing tasks according to project specifications described by Stellar's team. Specifically, SDF contracted Indicium to help complete a major data warehouse migration, which retired a legacy data warehouse and modernized the current data architecture. The new architecture used the orchestration tool, Airflow, to incrementally update the data warehouse in intraday batches.

Indicium helped with data verification and validation, data model enhancements, data quality monitoring and alerting and improving ci/cd processes. Additionally Indicium identified critical gaps in modern data architecture, recommending that SDF migrate KPI computations to dbt. They owned the entire migration, set best practices within the tool and trained internal employees on tool use.

Indicium dedicated a project manager and tech lead parttime to coordinate and manage deliverables. They initiated a biweekly virtual standup to communicate progress and blockers on the projects. Indicium is proactive in communicating statuses and would do so frequently through a Slack channel intraweek.

They are receptive to feedback and requests for changes in project management. For instance, they created a custom view in a spreadsheet to align with internal project tracking so that there was visibility into project work. Items were delivered in a timely manner, with any blockers communicated early.

Indicium has deep knowledge of up-to-date data architectures and industry best practices for data analytics development. They offer their opinion and recommendations with low ego, even when they know their solution is the best.

They have treated us more like partners than consulting services, which has led to trust between developers to provide candid feedback about overall solutions. Indicium is able to understand what a client needs and provide curated recommendations based on their needs. Their recommendations are pragmatic and uniquely tailored to client needs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Indicium could have done differently?

With larger statements of work, Indicium was willing to tackle the project as stated and at first was shy about sharing opinions regarding the big picture of the overall data platform. We asked for them to help us with strategy and share more of their knowledge regarding solutions architecture. They were a wealth of knowledge once we directly asked, and this was something we could have benefitted from earlier in the project.

Goal: Create and set up a Datalake and Data Ingestion pipeline Indicium Tech was instrumental in helping us create and set up a Datalake and Data Ingestion pipeline with several data providers. They brought a deep understanding of data architecture and pipeline development and provided us with the expertise to build a reliable and efficient data infrastructure.

Goal: Build crawlers to get data from multiple sourcers With Indicium Tech's expertise, we were able to build crawlers that collected and processed blockchain data. Their team worked closely with us to identify the right data sources and develop custom crawlers that were tailored to our needs. They also helped us with data cleaning and processing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our data.

Goal: Generate analysis on SQL Indicium Tech provided us with the tools and expertise to generate powerful analyses on SQL. They helped us design and develop a robust data analysis system using DBT that allowed us to derive meaningful insights from our data in a programmatic way

Their daily check-ins were particularly helpful in spotting any blockages or issues that needed to be addressed. They were always quick to respond to our needs and provided timely updates on the project's progress.

Furthermore, Indicium Tech delivered most items on time, and when there were any delays, it was often due to changes in the project specifications that we requested. In those cases, they were flexible and accommodating and worked diligently to incorporate our feedback into the project.

What impressed us the most about Indicium Tech was their ability to find the best technical solutions to solve our problems. In many cases, Indicium Tech had already solved similar problems before, which gave them a lot of speed and efficiency in completing our project. This allowed us to achieve our goals faster and with a higher degree of quality than we had anticipated.

While we were generally satisfied with Indicium Tech's work, there were some delays in deployment that we felt could have been avoided. We should note that many of these delays were caused by permission issues that were beyond the control of Indicium Tech.

Despite this, we felt that a stronger focus on testing and deployment could have helped us avoid some of these issues. We would have appreciated more communication regarding these issues and a more proactive approach to testing solutions before deploying in the staging environment.

At the beginning there were many face-to-face meetings to align all needs. At that point, we would like the Indicium staff to get to know our market segment and our problems in depth. Several areas were involved in the project. Marketing, IT, accounting and finance. we had to put everyone on the same page and then provide the data in the most correct way so that Indicium could deliver this project to us. The project lasted practically a year.

At the beginning the team was composed of an IT professional, a product engineering professional, an accounting professional, a cost professional and two marketing professionals.

After the project, our ABC curve result showed a rapid improvement with regard to the correctness of the developed collections. Also, we can identify a decrease in waste of raw material and consequently less stock.

I am the CEO of an industry based in the construction industry. We sell a variety of products from screws to mailboxes to large stores. We are based in the south of Brazil and we have 12 employees.

It was a long process of trying to find the best provider for the job. I was lucky to find Indicium through my college network.

The first step was to do an x-ray on my customer base. With that data we classified the customers by size and product like. Second step was to find LEADs similar to my customers, also by size and product link. With all the information we started to generate list of LEADs and to do active selling.

With the data was also possible to do target marketing in area we wanted to operate and with the LEADs we wanted to call. Every 15 days we had a meeting to discuss the results and to improve the extract of LEADs.

With their help we started an inside sales operation. In the beginning it was complicated because customers are used to receiving visits, but we developed some speeches and direct mail to attract LEAD's attention. Today inside sales represents 60% of my sales, in the year of the project we increased 15% in sales.

It was very effective. They were fast to generate the LEAD list and also to modify what was going wrong. With they work on my customer data, it was clear to me where was the good customers and what product sell to them to increase sales.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The meetings to discuss the project and the results were the best parts. They were compromised to make things work, with tips for my seller and to me with my products. Is was very good to see some ideas of people that are not inside the company.

We were very satisfied with the results. The target marketing have to improve a little, because we don't have the ability to work with facebook and google, they can also offer this kind of work and do all the process.

We wanted to be able to see, in one place, how our efforts on social media and other consumer facing verticals effected our daily, weekly and monthly direct sales. We also wanted a space where other stack-holders in the company could quickly look and see performance.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We now have an area where we can login and clearly see how all of our channels are performing. We can select date ranges and manipulate the dashboard to serve our needs. It's handy to not have to go to each individual channels reporting areas and cross reference everything. Having all our data in one space makes it easy and efficient to analyze our campaign performance.

Indicium was prompt and easy to communicate with. We are in different time zones so often we would connect on work and shift to email communication. The workflow was simple and straight forward.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Indicium would listen to our requests and execute on them. Some issues arose when plugging in certain aspects of our website but Indicium worked through issues to deliver what we needed.

Are there any areas for improvement?

If they where struggling to meet a deadline, they would proactively reach out and tell us why. These delays rarely happened but when they did, the added communication was greatly appreciated. These issues where generally directly related to oddities within our systems, so unforeseen hurdles would appear. In the future, Indicium could possibly spend more time understanding the nuances of each unique business structure.

We changed our project because of the results showed to us. We received the direction build smaller units and our sales are 25% over our expectations. All 1 bedroom units have benn sold, but Indicium said that we should build even more 1 bedroom units, we were kind conservative and decided to not do in the suggested intensity. Now we know we should have been followed Indicum's guidelines by the book

The analysis precision, the data sets wasn't that good, but even with that they give a high class group of insights
