**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Li-Cycle, a resource recovery company in the clean technology and sustainability space. We recycle used lithium-ion batteries, which can be found in common items such as cell phones, laptops, e-readers, e-scooters, and vacuum cleaners. Li-Cycle extracts non-renewable, finite resources from these lithium-ion batteries – materials such as lithium, cobalt, and manganese.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with ICR?

Our company recently announced that we were going public and we needed to make sure we were compliant with the rules and regulations.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

ICR is helping us to create content that will ensure our website is up-to-date with all relevant information heading into IPO. They’re helping us to create multiple new webpages – with lots of content – that will help stakeholders and potential investors learn about us quickly and easily. Finally, they’re helping our company to create the content for the ESG (environment, social, and governance) component of our site, in addition to a sustainability report.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with about five people.

How did you come to work with ICR?

We interviewed about six different investment relations companies. We looked at numerous proposals and had lengthy Zoom meetings with each potential company on our shortlist. ICR stood out as the very best. They were at the top of our list.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $50,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2021 and our working relationship is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

So far, they’ve been mind-blowing. Our company is united on this – ICR is incredible. They brought their a-game from the very beginning with foundational communications messaging and documents. Their expertise has been second-to-none. We heard they were good, but we had no idea how good. They consistently set us up for success.

How did ICR perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve implemented a fantastic activity tracker. It’s a live document, so everyone is on the same page ahead of every meeting. We have weekly (Zoom) meetings to get updates, but we also receive daily emails from their team on the important things – which ensures everyone is walking in lock-step. Additionally, their leadership meets with our executive leadership team weekly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Communication is essential in when it comes to the planning and strategy associated with going public. From the very first meeting we had with ICR, our entire team felt they had (and have) everything we needed to be successful. They offer incredible step-by-step strategies to ensure that we’re compliant and they consistently offer us briefing documents, foundational communications documents and templates, clear steps and processes on everything. ICR is as well-organized and as knowledgeable as they come. They have everything we need … even the things we didn’t know we needed in the first place!

Are there any areas they could improve?

Absolutely not; they’ve been phenomenal.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would encourage people to rely on their expertise. They’re clearly the best in their field, so you should trust them.
