We needed to replace an existing Squarespace site that we were outgrowing with a more robust website. 

The new website needed to offer specific features that we couldn't accomplish using Squarespace: 

• Offer recurring digital product subscriptions
• On-demand downloads of large digital product files for customers
• Customer account management, including subscription management
• Large number of product landing pages with custom filters and video/audio playback
• Pricing tables for subscription products
• Custom animations, transitions, and video player designs

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to launch our new Shopify site by the deadline we needed and our new subscription product that launched on it was a success. The site has been a good platform for our growth since then and Hulo's recommendation to use the Shopify platform has saved us a lot of money while allowing us to scale much larger. Our pages convert to sales well and we're still content with the UI/IX and design work that was done in 2021.

We spoke directly with Pavlo, for the most part. He started by collecting info and making proposals, then a designer prepared Figma mockups for all the page types we needed and we discussed refinements. From there their team moved to implementation and we did rounds of revisions through the Shopify platform itself. 

They worked with another vendor for the custom backend pieces, and the other vendor's timeline for delivery ended up determing our release dates. Hulo stayed in communication with us and the vendor directly to help get over the finish line, and they were very responsive throughout. 

And ever since they have always been willing to help with questions and concerns as they come up, even four years later! That's brought a ton of peace of mind.

Pavlo is a clear communicator and does fast work with his team. hulo.dev's sense of care and ownership, even after their work was done, was impressive. You can ask for help and they will help you.

Are there any areas for improvement or something hulo.dev could have done differently?

In hindsight, because our timeline was determined by the backend vendor's cadence of delivery, it would have been wise to bring them into the project earlier so they could be ready sooner. We ended up having front-end finish the majority of the delivery while the backend vendor was still working on their first stages. So I think just making sure that any vendors they're going to work with get brought into the project at the right time so things move forward in parallel would be great.

Their communication is excellent and they are always on time. When something urgent comes up with an ongoing client I feel full confidence that they have our backs to get it fixed. 
They build pixel perfect designs wonderfully and are great at improvising as well to add beautiful animation to help the site feel alive. Pavlo and his team are fantastic and I highly recommend them.
