Wiley D. Hughes Surveying in 2006 has evolved through a series of events over the last 29 years. On May 1, 1977, after working numerous years for established surveying and engineering firms in Bakersfield and Paso Robles, Wiley, along with Jim Butler and Dick Chambers instituted their own firm of Butler, Chambers and Hughes.
Then, in 1980 Hughes Surveying came into being in a small converted house on part of the land where the office is now located. In 1984 the partnership of Alta Engineering Hughes Surveying was created with Registered Engineer George R Dickey. After experiencing Company growing pains and over-crowding in the existing office, a trailer was added in the rear to accommodate the added employees.
At this point in 1988 Wiley bought the adjoining property and built the existing two-story, 10 suite building where Wiley D. Hughes Surveying now resides.
