HMN Capital is a London-based retained executive search firm specialising in C-suite appointments for private equity, venture capital and private credit-backed businesses across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Every search is retained, confidential and relationship-led. We place CEOs, CFOs, COOs, Chief Revenue Officers, Chief Commercial Officers, Chief Product Officers and Chief Technology Officers into PE-backed portfolios — at every stage of the investment cycle, from first institutional hire through to exit preparation.

Our clients include PE and VC sponsors making critical portfolio hires, and portfolio company boards mandated to find their next senior leader. We work across the full range of mid-market and growth equity contexts: founder-backed businesses receiving first institutional capital, platforms executing buy-and-build strategies, businesses undergoing transformation, and companies being prepared for sale.

We operate exclusively on a retained basis. Every mandate begins with a detailed brief. We map the relevant talent market, approach candidates directly — including those not actively looking — and present a focused shortlist of typically three to five candidates, each with our written assessment. We stay engaged through offer, negotiation and onboarding.

HMN Capital was founded in 2023 by Simon Taylor, who brings over 15 years of PE-focused executive search experience. Simon spent six years as a Director at Nigel Wright Group and served as Director – Europe at Finatal, leading C-suite mandates across PE-backed portfolio companies throughout Europe, before founding HMN Capital with a clear conviction: that specialist, relationship-led search delivers better outcomes for sponsors, portfolio companies and the executives they hire.
