I’m the managing partner for a commercial real estate firm in the Washington DC area.

They designed the new office space for our company in Bethesda.

What was the scope of their involvement?

It started with them understanding who we are as a company and helping us understand what would be the best layout configuration for our team and or how we operate. Then, they helped us design the finishes, feel, and look of the space to be consistent with our brand and who we are as a company to attract and retain great talent.

We worked with multiple architects.

How did you come to work with HKS Architects?

We’re in the industry, so we work with a lot of architects. We already knew them and felt that they would be the best for this project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project began back in February 2019 and finished in December 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did exactly what we set out to do — create a functional environment for our team and staff. We couldn’t be happier with their work; it came in on time and under budget. It’s refreshing and made our team more effective and energetic.

How did HKS Architects perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great. They had lots of in-person meetings and phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The finished project is a beautiful space done with cost-effective and efficient solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything.

Know exactly what you want. Be very clear with your communication — they’ll listen and do exactly what you want.
