I hired Hechura to build a production-grade custom software platform incorporating social/community features, a marketplace with auction functionality, and additional business management tools.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Getting a production-grade secure software platform launched and fully ready for live users and ecommerce. 

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The first couple of months went really well with most features delivered on time and Chris and Reagan being very responsive to my requests and clarifications. Unfortunately, this started to slip as time went by, and they became less responsive or willing to take feedback on the work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I loved the combination of Chris's long experience working with a variety of technology companies, and Reagan's more modern design sensibility and interest in trying all the latest tools. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Hechura could have done differently?

Unfortunately, the project did not end well. The team's responsiveness slowed way down. I wasn't sure if they had taken on too many other projects, or if there was something personal going on. But the initial rapid progress was replaced by days and then weeks with no action. 

Although it was a fixed contract for the project in which the final deliverable was supposed to be a fully launched production-grade software platform, they decided that they needed more money before they were willing to see things through. I've since learned that this is a pretty typical experience for people like me who hire development agencies. 

They were never willing or able to do any QA or testing of the software. That was all left to me. I learned afterward that there were several serious security vulnerabilities in the way they had built things as well. The app was always slow and laggy when what I wanted and expected was quick and snappy. They were not able to figure out image caching and could not be convinced to use a CDN.

I’m an executive at a software company. We help B2B SaaS businesses drive more direct conversions via LinkedIn ads.

What challenge were you trying to address with Hechura?

We needed help getting an MVP to market to validate with paying customers.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Hechura was responsible for the MVP’s architecture, design, and development. The main deliverable was our first end-to-end workflow that customers would pay for. This included third-party API integration, authentication, and front-end development.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two teammates from Hechura.

How did you come to work with Hechura?

I found them through a referral. They had the ability to move faster than a typical dev shop and understood the leverage the AI coding tools could provide.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from September 2024–June 2025.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had our first customers paying for the product. We were able to get our first 10 using the MVP. We have since moved on to build a more robust application with a variety of features. They saw the value we could provide and quickly had a list of other features that would complement our first one.

How did Hechura perform from a project management standpoint?

They were diligent in hitting deadlines. We communicated via Slack and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their use of AI tooling to help deliver outcomes faster was impressive.
