Our Story

HARGILE started in Brussels as a web studio. Building sites for clients, we kept seeing the same shift: buyers stopped scrolling through search results and started asking ChatGPT or Perplexity who to call. A site could rank on Google and still be missing from that answer. In 2026 we narrowed the whole company down to that problem. Today the four of us, working from WAT in Brussels, do one thing: get companies cited by AI, and show the work in a report every month.

We fix your site, we don't hand you a to-do list

Most providers send an audit and leave you to act on it. We apply the technical changes to your site ourselves, with no cap on the number of fixes, and the previous state is recorded before every change so anything can be reversed.

We see where AI finds its answers

Beyond your own site, we pull up the pages ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews and Copilot lean on: review sites, comparison sites, directories, forums. You get a finite list of the sources that cite your competitors and not you.

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is the work of getting your business named in the answers of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews and Copilot. SEO is about ranking in a list of links; an AI answer has no second page, you are in it or you are not. The two are linked: an engine only cites what it can read, so we fix your search foundations first and treat SEO as the entry condition, not a separate product.

On a list of questions your buyers actually ask, written with you and frozen at the start, so every reading compares like with like. We put it to ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews and Copilot four times a month, in each of your languages, and record whether you are named, in what position and next to whom, against your starting point and your competitors. We also calculate the threshold below which a movement is just measurement noise, and below it we draw no conclusion and say so.

The free audit comes back in 48 hours. Once we start, the first fixes go live early, but AI answers move as your site, resellers and third-party sources update: count on three months before anything can be judged. That is why the first commitment is three months, covered by the setup phase, then month to month with one month's notice.

We write the questions to track with you, based on your products or services, your markets and your languages, and agree on the competitors to compare against. You give us read access to your Google Search Console and a named administrator account on your site, which you can revoke at any time. We take a first reading, then the work on the site is ours. Anything that needs information only you hold, like a price or a specification, comes to you as one short, closed list.

No. If a freelancer or an agency already writes your content, we complement them: content stays with them, and we take the technical work off their hands so they can keep writing. We are not a PR agency either. We name the sources worth going after and write the argument, and the contact with a journalist or a community stays yours.
