At HardHat Scaling, we cut the crap.


We have talked to enough contractors and you hear the same story. Someone charged them $2,500 a month for a website they never saw results from, and locked them into a twelve-month contract. When they tried to leave, it turned out the agency owned the domain. That is not marketing. That is a hostage situation with a logo on it.


If we are not making you money, you should be able to walk. So we built it that way on purpose.

It depends on the piece. Missed-call text back starts saving leads the day it turns on. Review requests usually produce new 5-star reviews within the first week or two. Your website starts converting the traffic you already have immediately. Local SEO is the slow one. Expect meaningful movement in 3 to 6 months, compounding after that. Anyone promising you page one in a week is lying to you.

Because we built the system once and we run it lean. We are not paying for a downtown office, a sales team, or account managers whose whole job is forwarding your emails. We would also rather keep you for ten years at a fair price than burn you for six months at $2,500 a month. The work is the same. The overhead is not.

We will be gutted, obviously. There will be a moment of silence and possibly a small cry. Then we will get over it, because there is no contract and no cancellation fee holding either of us hostage. You will lose access to the system we built: the automations switch off, the review funnel stops, and the site comes down. That part is unavoidable. Your domain is the exception. Competitive searches like "contractor near me" are what the local SEO work is for, and that takes months, not days. We will always tell you which one you are paying for.

Because word of mouth still ends up on Google. When someone recommends you, the very next thing that person does is search your name, and if nothing credible comes up, that warm referral cools off fast. A website does not replace word of mouth. It closes it. And it keeps working in the months when referrals go quiet.
