Hanami Social makes social media sell. We are a Tokyo-based, tech-led agency working in English and Japanese, for brands reaching Japanese and international audiences.
Our founder, Matt Hannan, is a former senior software engineer at Meta who worked on the Instagram Reels publishing system (2021–2024). He is a named co-inventor on Meta's US patent 12,684,204 for automated video reformatting, and The Washington Post has quoted him on Instagram. That engineering background runs through everything we build.
We do two things together. First, short-form video people want to watch: audience research, scripts and shot lists, filming direction or a managed creator, editing, revisions and publishing with your approval. Second, the automated system that turns attention into sales: comment-triggered messages that collect contacts and deliver a free guide or offer, then email, LINE or WhatsApp follow-up, CRM integration and booked sales calls. We measure sales and booked calls, find where people drop off, and keep testing.
Results include a single property Reel with 12.7 million views, 100,000+ followers added to one client account in under six months, 58,476 contacts in that client's funnel, and 430M+ views across our client portfolio.
