Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the marketing director of Modern Living LLC, a modern nursery organization. We have an online e-commerce store on Shopify.

What challenge were you trying to address with Gloross Shopify Experts?

We were trying to fix part of our e-commerce site’s coding to improve our platform that wasn’t functioning properly, especially its pre-sale feature that wasn’t working. We wanted to sort that out because that functionality makes our company stand out within our market.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Gloross Shopify Experts has helped us with different tasks. Their team has done some coding implementation and development for our e-commerce platform based on my vision. In addition, they’ve assisted us in converting our files to JSON for the new Shopify 2.0 update, which included rebuilding the site from scratch.

They did their own research to jumpstart the process, but I also gave them scripts and other materials we had, especially for the website rebuild, to ensure we wouldn’t lose anything.

Currently, we expanded the project’s scope to CRO services and other development tasks surrounding that.

We’ve worked with 5–6 members of their team, including Ross (Owner), Lazar (Frontend Developer), and their CRO expert.

So far, we’ve invested around $20,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2020, and the engagement is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been happy with them because they don’t publish new themes every time they do something, enabling me to update the live theme without having them overwrite what we did, which was a challenge with our previous providers.

In addition, our customer service team is delighted with their new coding because they no longer have to reach out to every customer with an issue, saving them a lot of time and enabling them to manage customer expectations.

How did Gloross Shopify Experts perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly meetings with them to review and report the performance of every task.

Regarding tools, we use Asana and Google Meet to manage the project and communicate. I can also create new cards if we want them to do something or if we want to share a new idea to help increase our conversion rate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility and ability to adapt to our priorities make the biggest difference. Moreover, we love their honesty in telling us what they’re doing and why they think that’s the best way to do things. It’s very refreshing not to be worried about if they’re being transparent or not — we’re sure that Gloross Shopify Experts will always provide us with the most cost-effective solution.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on; Gloross Shopify Experts does everything based on our preferences and the feedback I’ve given them throughout the partnership.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be upfront with what you want and set your expectations; they’ll follow it and make it happen, which is my favorite part about working with them.

I'm the Director of Marketing & Merchandising at Modern Nursery, an online store for designer baby goods and nursery furniture.

For what projects/services did your company hire Gloross Shopify Experts, and what were your goals?

After moving over to Shopify from Magento under the care of our previous developers, we quickly realized that team was not able to work on Shopify sites. We needed trustworthy Shopify-specific developers, and Gloross constantly lives up to that description. We hired them for small projects here and there, and ultimately decided to hire them on as a full partner in both development and CRO services to help ensure our website performs perfectly for anyone visiting.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Originally we found Gloross when our complex code for shipping estimation dates stopped working. Our deciding factors were price and communication. Gloross was very reasonably priced, and promised to be transparent in what they were doing. Gloross was able to fix the code, and gain our trust with a few small coding tweaks - and ensured we were set up to understand where all code snippets they updated were in case we worked with other developers in the future.

When it came time to move to Shopify 2.0, we knew we could trust Gloross to completely rebuild our site on the new JSON files. After completing this project, we decided to move forward with CRO services to help optimize our website for conversions.

For the first few projects, I simply described the issue in the Shopify Experts site and the team was able to quickly and expertly fix said issues. For our larger projects, we met for the initial scope to make sure our paths were aligned. Gloross executed our vision exactly, ensuring our site update looked the same as our initial design but worked better for our team. They ensured as many elements as possible weren't just hard-coded but used builder elements so that more of our team who is not proficient in code could assist with minor content updates etc. Currently for CRO services, we use Asana and Google Hangouts regularly!

Initially I worked with one developer. When we presented a more complicated job, the owner Ross jumped in to assist. For our site rebuild, we worked with both Ross, his lead developer, and a project manager. Currently, we work with all of the above, as well as the Gloross CRO expert.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After fixing our shipping estimation times, we're able to stand out against the competition to presell items even if they're out of stock based on key variables and latencies. Now that the code operates perfectly, we can do this while ensuring our customer's expectations are met and no longer have issues with the wrong or no dates appearing.

They were able to help us integrate this into our order confirmation emails and accounts as well! Since the completion of the site update, the back end of our website is more user friendly for our team! Our CRO results are new but already performing well, we've been able to make key site improvements to increase our conversion rate and are very happy so far!

We use Asana primarily to communicate and keep all of our tasks on track. Our project manager and CRO manager meet with us weekly to discuss results and implement winners in beta tests, and present new ideas!

Gloross Shopify Experts is technically proficient and humble. We're able to meet with them to ensure we understand everything they need from us, and they don't get frustrated when we ask 1,000 questions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Any miscommunications are very quickly clarified, and once I explain where I'm coming from they are quick to align and ensure we don't have to explain again.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our goals and objectives. From there, the designer created the mockups and their team developed the new Shopify store. The newly improved store is better looking and faster than the previous.

In the beginning, we communicated with Ross (the owner) who set us the right expectations. Then we worked with a graphic designer and one of the developers was explaining everything in understandable language and was following the plan we set with Ross.

After re-designing the theme, not only did we see the results of Gloross work but we also noticed an increase in our conversion rates

We worked with them on the clock and didn't need to use 3rd party tools. Every week we get reports on the time they have worked on our project and an estimation of when they will be done. The communication was perfect and every time we knew where the project is.

They have a lot of experience in the industry and we felt that we are in good hands from start to finish the project. Their communication was fast and in addition, they gave us great recommendations
