Distrocuyo S.A. is an Argentine company devoted to trunk transmission and distribution of electrical energy and the construction of medium and high voltage electrical works. I am the Business & Power System Leader.

We were looking for a company with experience in IoT (Internet of Things) applications. Our main goal and demand was to develop a remote protection web system.

We selected him by recommendation of a colleague. We needed to work with a company with verifiable experience and Globalis met that requirement.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Scope of work: It’s a software that automatically collects, manages and sends information collected from on-site IEDs, allowing access to oscillography reports with web or mobile access. The software operation is independent from the brand or model of the IED to be integrated, multiprotocol and adaptable to updates and availability of proprietary tools. We received 10 deliverables. Technology used: .Net, SQL Server, React, AWS, Lambda, Python, Next JS

3 people worked with us: 2 Full Stack developers and 1 Front-end developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Globalis developed a nice platform. We were pleased with the software that they developed. The software made the processes more efficient. We have a better understanding and we know what happens in real time. It also helps us to carry out inspections and tests, and to verify the performance of generators.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had fluent communication in person, video, telephone or email. They use the Agile Methodology that is why we had regular meetings and we gave them our constant feedback.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think Globalis is a very serious company. We hired them because of their vast experience in the development process like Scrum, and they had an agile mentality.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't think I would change anything. It’s not easy to do software specific to certain activities.

I’m the Founder of DAPI, precision farming products and services. We develop drones and multispectral sensors to increase agricultural yields. We also work with software development and artificial intelligence.

Globalis was hired to help us improve our Artificial Intelligence algorithm and build a friendly user interface.​ We needed to carry out the integration and development of a software for the automation of a machine learning process that would enable not only the spotting of fruits through aerial images taken by a drone but also the quantifying and measuring of such detected fruits.

Scope of work: It’s a desktop software development. Globalis developed a real-time object recognition system that recognizes multiple fruits in a single frame and trains the neural network. Also, an image processing software development to classify images through artificial intelligence. Some of the technologies used: Python, AI Algorithms, Machine Learning, Deep Learning.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The team was made up of two developers and a Project Manager.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We received from Globalis 2 deliverables, which were tested and worked well. All the project and deliverables were within agreed-upon timeframes and met our expectations.

Thanks to Agile Methodology, we had fluid communication, with frequent meetings and continuous feedback. It allowed us to be organized and plan ahead, resulting in a superior quality product in a short time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out the most about GLOBALIS S.A. was the commitment to working on our MVP. Their efficiency, effective communication, high-level and committed developers were key drivers for our business.

I don’t have anything critical to say. I think they did a great job.

Yalla Collect is a web platform based in the GCC. It has been designed as a digital solution for regional companies to collect cash faster. The web development seeks to protect companies from late payments by using the latest technologies and tools to address the challenges faced in the market today.

We hired Globalis because we were looking for an experienced MVP development company.

How did you select GLOBALIS S.A. and what were the deciding factors?

We were looking for a company that has experience in MVP development, with convenient prices. They were also recommended from their execution in other projects.

In the scope of work there was an initial project overview and planning were the project was divided into 4 stages, 2 sprints each, where timings and costings were allocated.

They were very efficient in the way to start tackling the project and start providing details needed along the way. With daily meetings, demos at the end of each sprint and constant communication we were always aligned on the status of the project.

Deliverables: the project was integrated with accounting systems so our customers can manage their accounts receivable more efficiently as well as providing an interactive web portal for customers to reduce time. As a result, our customers will have a platform that:

• Achieve faster payments and reduce debt
• Improved customer service • Effective decision making
• Cash flow forecast.

Through this system we have access to customer data and contacts, communications and interactions with customers, as well as personal notes, are recorded to facilitate monitoring, and instant access to reports and invoices.

We worked with the Scrum Master methodology, with a Product Owner representing Yalla Collect, and Globalis with a Front-end developer, a back-end developer and a Dev-Ops

As a result of this project, our clients are using this web application to be able to manage their accounts receivable in a more efficient way, bill and charge their clients securely and have access to data and performance in real time.

Thanks to SCRUM Master methodology, we had fluid communication, with daily sprints. It allowed us to organize ourselves quickly, prioritizing tasks and dividing responsibilities. As a result, this gave us an excellent quality product in a short time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We are glad with the work developed in conjunction with Globalis, in a team with high-level developers who worked very neatly on our MVP. We found a team who is 100% committed with the work they are doing and open to discuss and help us along the process.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Being partners with Globalis was a great experience. We are glad to find outstanding developers and even more to count on them in order to continue growing.

Our company is a recognized leader in providing innovative supplemental executive benefit solutions and services for employers of all sizes and industries. My role is Chief Information Technology Officer, in charge of both development and infrastructure.

For what projects/services did your company hire GLOBALIS S.A., and what were your goals?

Globalis was hired to help us enhance some of the code we were developing to migrate one of our core platforms.

Due to compliance requirements, we engaged multiple vendors with a limited scope of the project and allowed them to work on complex areas of code to narrow down the final provider to work on detailed areas, and Globalis was the only company that was able to keep up with our increasingly demanding requirements.

Globalis was part of a group of companies that we engaged to get familiar with their services and work dynamics. Ending the process, they were the only partner that provided the quality of work and was able to respond to the requests presented in a timely fashion and within budget constraints.

We allocated work segments in the form of development units. Those units were partially assembled and we asked from Globalis to develop the core functionality expected from said unit and deploy it in a state that was semi-ready for assembly.

As mentioned before, we did the same exercise with multiple providers, but we consistently found that the code delivered by Globalis was one of the few that met our expectations.

In our experience, Globalis makes sure the team is fully aware of the scope of the project. We worked with two of their developers, but during the engagement process, we also had participation from their head of development and their CEO.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As a result of the modules delivered by Globalis, our internal team was able to integrate and deploy completed modules of our system in a faster manner, leading to a successful completion of the platform in Q2 2020. Towards the end of the process, our code was absorbing Globalis deliverables in a seamless manner, which saved us a substantial amount of time and effort.

As mentioned above, the project management provided by Globalis does feel all-hands-on-deck, regardless of the scale. We communicated primarily using emails, chat and GitHub.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The company feels as group of very knowledgeable engineers with the willingness and ability to help you, not as another marketing-based offshore engineering shop. We got top-quality talent from the beginning and a complete stewarding of the process in all the phases. Leadership is heavily involved and makes sure that the process moves seamlessly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I believe the company can enhance some of the written report communications for the interim stages; nonetheless, those were filled in when we had our status meetings.
