Frank Walsh is the founder of Frank's Signs. Following his military service in World War II, Frank studied sign making at the New Hampshire Technical School, where he learned about the finer aspects of hand lettering and screen printing. He put his skills to use at Walsh Signs, a business owned by his brother. Frank worked at Walsh Signs until 1965, when his brother's poor health forced the business to close. On July 27, 1965, Frank opened the doors to Frank's Signs.
