BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CEO of a Design and Marketing company based in Los Angeles California. We create and launch consumer brands online and in retail. We create for a global audience. I am responsible for designing and assembling a team around new brands and initiatives.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Fractal Engineering?

We were launching a new brand into a big box retailer across the country. The product comes in a huge in-store display and the sales velocity depended on people understanding what the display was and how big the footprint was.

The issue was that, these had not been made yet, and once they are made they would be cost-prohibitive to ship for demo because of their weight. We hired Fractal to model, print, and AR our displays so we could sell our products into the store.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to rapidly create a true-to-size rendering of our in-store display that looked exactly what the stores would receive with our shipments. We would have a small toy that was a miniature to display all of the features, a photo rendered from many angles in store for our presentations, and also an AR version we could text a link to and have the store place themselves to see the footprint.

How did you select this vendor?

We have been working with Fractal for a long time now. Originally we were attracted to their attention to detail, but as our relationship has blossomed, we have come to rely on their professionalism and reliability. They consistently produce detail-oriented work for us and we are very happy with the results.

Describe the project in detail.

We started with a design brief with the objectives and information behind the project and a meeting to discuss the brief. Once they had a good idea of what we needed, we traded notes and they came back to me with the first draft.

From there-notes- they sent check-in's on the progress and then presented again. Once we were at this stage we fine-tuned the very last details and the project was complete.

What was the team composition?

Initially, we worked with the founder, which was extremely helpful. He managed a team of engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We launched during COVID quarantines and even then, when the stores were closed, we were able to used our renderings and models to have truly unexpected amounts of sales. Many of the buyers attributed their excellent impression from the renders. We were very happy with this.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely effective. We were able to accomplish a lot in a small amount of time, and on time!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Timeliness and professionalism. Truly reliable and impressive attention to detail. A pleasure to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Everything can always be done faster, but in this case, I don't think someone could have.
