Introduce your business and what you do there.

Our organization is a dental supply company that sells electric toothbrushes. We’re one of the five companies under Zion Miracle. These companies include Z Dental, My Z Sonic, Zana, and a real estate firm. I’m the senior operations specialist for all of our companies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Fishbowl?

We wanted to get an inventory management system in place. When I first started working with the company, the inventory was in a warehouse, and members were using Excel Spreadsheets to process and keep track of orders. We used a WooCommerce plug-in called Webgility, which transferred orders from our landing page to QuickBooks. With these things in mind, we hired Fishbowl for a better inventory system. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fishbowl provides an all-in-one inventory management system for us. This system syncs with QuickBooks and our website, and it helps us get an accurate count of our orders, purchases, and sales. The team has signed a two-year contract with us to provide software training. We also have a five-year contract for them to support five of our users. 

What is the team composition?

I work closely with an account manager and two implementation specialists, who train us on how we can use the software and finalize the setup.

How did you come to work with Fishbowl?

I came across Fishbowl through Google. I was looking at a smaller website that also used Excel Spreadsheets for inventory. Eventually, I made a comparison between them and Fishbowl, and the latter came out on top. Then, I went to their website, downloaded a demo, and reached out to their salesperson. I told them what we needed, and from that point forward, we started working together. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $25,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2021, and the partnership is ongoing. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We now have 100% inventory accountability — previously, we had no idea what we had in our warehouse. Processing orders is a lot easier now than when we did things manually. Everything is unified from inventory to CRM without us having to do anything other than processing the orders and shipping them. Overall, Fishbowl has provided wonderful software — it’s a lifesaver. 

How did Fishbowl perform from a project management standpoint?

Fishbowl’s project management has been smooth. They’ve guided us throughout the whole project timeline. We can see from day one what the process is going to be. To communicate, we use phones. We can call their support line if we need to share information with them. If we have a quick question or need to confirm something, we use chats. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The comprehensiveness of their program is impressive. I’ve spent around five months just searching for the right software that can do everything for us without a glitch. Fishbowl’s software does everything we need from integrating QuickBooks into our system to seamlessly processing orders that come from our website. Simply put, the program is awesome — it turned our small company into a true e-commerce firm.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their account manager’s communication with us can be improved. After starting our engagement, the account manager has pretty much become silent and not responsive. 

For instance, when we need to buy another plug-in or add another WooCommerce store for Fishbowl to manage, it’s not easy to get a hold of the account manager. I’ve ended up requesting to switch to another manager because of this. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you manage a warehouse or have a significant amount of inventory, I highly recommend using Fishbowl. If you have an e-commerce store and use QuickBooks, then they’re the team to use. You can manage everything from within Fishbowl, and this makes things so much easier.
