Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Technical Manager for the Postgraduate Medical Education department at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust (Formerly Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust)

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Findon Software, and what were your goals?

Some of our processes were still paper-based or manual, such as registraton for events, follow up certification, study leave applications and claims. We hired Findon Software to develop a solution that handles these aspects digitally and automatically, we also required a single location for accessing recorded teaching videos which included tracking of time watched (against a user's profile)

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were going to use in-house developers for this project, however their lead time became a prohibitive factor, so we looked for local developers and found Findon Software, after speaking with them, we felt we could work well with them as they had a good mixture of professionalism, personability and flexibilty.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We started by sending them a project brief, then we had a requirements gathering meeting to ensure that Findon Software had all the information they needed to send us a requirements document detailing all the aspects of the project that they would develop, as well as stating dependencies etc. Our system was built in ASP.net as a web-accesible platform.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Overall, 5 members of the Findon Software team have worked on our project, Paul, the lead developer and CEO was the primary contact as well as his team of junior developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since launching the software, we have had over 1600 users register on the system and we are seeing this number growing daily.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They use a hybrid Agile approach to project management, with call logging on FogBugz and (possibly due to COVID) Microsoft Teams for most communications

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Findon Software has a flexible, can-do attitude, happily accommodating minor changes into the workflow and quick to resolve any issues that arise.
