BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

We are an interactive marketing firm focusing on web design & campaign management for SEO, PPC and b2b cold outreach. I am the founder and managing member here.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Fathom Creative?

In the beginning of 2016, we had an outdated logo that we started the company with in 2008. We didn't give it much thought back then, we just threw together a basic logo and moved forward. The brand image the old logo gave was not conducive to our environment.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a unique logo concept that was clear that it was completely custom. Because our name is Right Here Interactive, we tossed around the idea of having some visual right here indication. I personally came to the project with some preconceived notions of how the logo should be and the color schemes.

SOLUTION

How did you select Fathom Creative?

We had partnered with Fathom on client web projects for a few years and seen their amazing branding work. So we decided to invest in our own brand by hiring Fathom's branding team.

Describe the project in detail.

the first thing we did was mood board and brain storm all of the opportunities to play off the name. We cancelled out the "on the nose" visual identities like using a map with a pin to indicate right here. Each designer went off and came up with 5 concepts.

The creative director then evaluated the 5 concepts internally and presented me 3 concepts for considerations. In some ways we were fortunate because there was a clear winner which became my selection. From there, we did several rounds of revisions to finalize the logo and styling.

What was the team composition?

The design team consisted of 2 graphic designers and the creative director. I was the client.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Ultimately, we have what is essentially a handwritten font. To us, the logo conveyed the meaning we were after which is that wherever any client is located throughout the world that needs our services, we are Right Here.

We have a mark that is an exclamation point to indicate the Here without being too on the nose. We have a responsive version of the logo for small screens and thumbnails. We've built our entire branding around to the logo and often get compliments on it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Actually, I thought going in that it would be a long painful process because the logo means so much to me personally. What I ended up experiencing was both a caring workflow. The designers really wanted to nail it for me and it was surprisingly quick.

All of our meetings were virtual because my company is 600 miles away from Fathom's DC office. The workflow was extremely well communicated in advance and we stuck to the schedule. If I recall correctly, their workflow was so efficient, we finished ahead of schedule.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I think it's how much they wanted to see what my vision for my firm is, who my market is to really be able to come from a perspective of understanding.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I wish I could say something here so this doesn't seem like an empty review, but the reality is the project went better than my expectations.
