I'm the founder of Beu. Beu is an on demand beauty app, designed to help cosmetologists serve their clients in their homes.

For what projects/services did your company hire FACTEUR PR?

I hired FACTEUR to help me attract customers to my beauty business. Months later and $13,339 in payments to FACTEUR who claims to specialize in beauty business advertising, FACTEUR failed to attract even one customers to my business. When I ran out of funds and had to end my agreement with FACTUER, I asked FACTEUR founder Reena if she could kindly refund me the one month deposit FACTEUR required me to pay in advance, a sum of $3,200.

FACTEUR was recommended to me by an acquaintance.

Being a single mother and a refugee here in the United States, I had put all my faith and trust in FACTUER to help me grow my business. Reena refused to refund me, explaining that over the five years of FACTEUR’S life, many of her clients have pulled out of agreements leaving her unable to pay her employees.

One wonders why so many of FACTUER’S clients pull out of their agreements? Is it because FACTUER fails to advertise its clients’ businesses and fails to help them reach their financial goals? During my first month of working with FACTEUR Reena urged me to add a new tanning service to my business, she explained she had a tanning customer interested in working with me, I added the feature which cost me $1000, when the customer backed out of the deal without explanation, Reena shrugged and said she can’t ‘force’ people to use my service.

I communicated with Reena - Founder of FACTEUR directly, I don't know about her team, and I'm the only employee in my company

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

There were no successful outcomes. After four months and after I paid FACTEUR $13,339, I did not get any users to my app. FACTEUR distrusts its clients from the very beginning and takes precaution against them by requiring them to pay a month’s deposit in advance. However, as a client of FACTEUR you have no guarantees when they fail to drive customers to your business.

When I implored Reena a second time to refund me the deposit, her response was a threat with legal action.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I communicated with Reena on an average of two times a week.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

FACTEUR looks fancy and sleek from the outside, but when it comes to doing the work, they couldn't show results. They gave me hope that they can help me grow my business but that never happened. I should have seen the red flag when during my first conversation with Reena she said she couldn't "make" people to use my app.

Our clients are the most important part of our studio. I care deeply for each one - including you, Fatima, and I’m sorry you felt the need to take issue with the contract you signed here and out of e-mail. Out of respect, I won’t fall into the trap of arguing with you in a public forum or go into the details of how your business has already cost us more than $9,975 in lost revenue.

A deposit – or one month's fee, which goes to the total fee amount – is required with a signed contract to retain our services. Businesses that choose to terminate their engagement early – in this case, due to a malfunctioning product produced by the client, an error admitted to in writing by the client herself – forfeit their deposit OR owe a termination fee in order to minimize our damages. To clarify, we have only ever had one other client terminate early (which was a mutual agreement). As a small business, we take a limited number of clients at a time, and we have a pretty industry-typical contract in place to ensure our full commitment. We strive to not just meet expectations but exceed them, but all the marketing in the world can’t save a broken product. Fatima, I am also disappointed that things didn’t work out the way either party had hoped. Best wishes.

While FacteurPR performed admirably in many aspects, there was one area where they could have enhanced their service delivery. Providing more detailed progress reports and analytics would have allowed us to better gauge the impact of their PR efforts. They did, however, expedite and remedy this minor issue.
