Provided with internal stories and backend work from the internal staff, Euristiq provided staff augmentation for UI-related tasks and frontend development.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
Our company provides custom software, integration, analytics, and big data solutions for our clients, serving the healthcare, IoT/operations, agriculture, and logistics industries. I'm the CTO.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Euristiq?
Our project was to implement a specialized patient electronic management system for a specialized medical clinic. It was an angular front end with a .net core backend. We required additional capacity development capacity to implement the complex workflows and interface interactions,.
What were your goals for this project?
The interface was complex in that through the single-page web application, it must accommodate multiple modules, entities, user interfaces and workflows. The solution needed to have an intuitive design, be aestheticly appealing, and very efficient. Further, it had to conform with the regulatory requirements related to the management of patient information.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
A trusted advisor had experiance with Euristiq and suggested they may be able to assist us. We engaged them and provided them a few augmentation related tasks, and based on their performance with these activities, we decided to increase their responsibilities on our project.
Describe the project in detail.
We engaged the Euristiq, provided them interface user stories while we developed the back end. We worked with them through the implementation and integration of their development efforts into the code base for the application.
What was the team composition?
the team included a project lead, quality assurance lead, 2-3 back end developers, and 3 front end developers. Euristiq provided 2 of our front end developers.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
While the project had its challenges, the team really came together, and pulled it off. The final product met all the original goals of aesthetics, intuitive design, and performance.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
workflow was good - we had daily scrum meetings, and because of the timezone difference, we started our day with a recap of the progress they had made. We used Jira to manage user story requirements, and implemented a client acceptance checklist to ensure overall progress completion. English as a second language (ESL) issues were not experienced.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They have top-notch front end developers who could quickly implement our interface workflows and designs. One of our challenges was ensuring we had enough work defined that they would remain fully engaged on the project! They would identify opportunities for improvement, and they were very easy to work with.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We have implemented a checkpoint between our two companies to discuss opportunities for continuous improvement. We will continue to leverage Euristiq to augment our team, and have already engaged them on two other projects. An areas for improvement is better ownership of the assigned user stories, however, our experiance is that is more about how we engaged, versus thier capabilities or approached. If we gave only highly detailed tasks, their ability to own the approach and outcome didn't exist.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of software development for Europe’s largest airline.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Euristiq?
We hired Euristiq for development services.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve worked with Euristiq’s developers on two major projects. My company has about ten teams working in parallel, with each team being responsible for an area of the website. For instance, the payment delivery team is responsible for the payment page. Euristiq provides developers to supplement these teams.
The first project they helped us with was a website rebuild and redesign. They were also involved in an internal project, which was for scheduling and some operational processes around flying the aircraft. They’ve supported .NET and Angular development.
What is the team composition?
My main contact is Ivan (CEO & Co-Founder, Euristiq), and we’ve worked with roughly 20 developers altogether.
How much have you invested with them?
I don’t have an exact number, but we found them to be of good value.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with Euristiq in July 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everyone on my team has found them to be good to work with. Even though they’re contractors, they seem to be very much a part of the team. The rollout of the new website is going well, which Euristiq contributed to; we’ve seen significant improvements in performance as well as uplifts in conversion and revenue. Their output has been high-quality. Overall, it’s been a successful engagement.
How did Euristiq perform from a project management standpoint?
We follow the Scrum methodology and work in two-week sprints. Their developers work remotely, but they occasionally visit us, and we have team get-togethers once or twice a year. They’re very active on Slack and other communication channels. They also attend our daily team meetings via Slack, Chime, or some Webex alternative, and they join in as any other team member would.
Ivan and the company’s CTO provide background support. I meet with the CTO every 1–2 weeks to discuss how things are going. He tells me how his team sees things and vice versa. I also provide feedback on his developers.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The developers are high-quality, and we’ve been satisfied with them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No; overall, we’re pretty satisfied.
Any advice for potential customers?
This isn’t specific to Euristiq, but ensure you’re getting the right people and skill level. I would’ve liked to put all of Euristiq’s resources through our own interview process.

Euristiq created a luminaire monitoring system, building a fully compliant data-retrieving backend and extensive hardware-tracking capabilities and integrating thousands of gateway connections worldwide.
The software provided up-to-date data for millions of luminaires, achieving outstanding quality through Euristiq’s robust testing methods and cohesive designs. The team’s helpful suggestions, organized scheduling, competitive pricing, and collaborative discussions exceeded expectations.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
HeSaLight was a street-lighting company that was putting intelligent controls into street lamps to control luminaires through a backend service and database. I was the manager of the project for both hardware and software, including development, introduction, and getting the product to market.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Euristiq?
We wanted to make a fully compliant backend to retrieve data from all the luminaires around the world. A year or two ago, we planned to install 1 million luminaires, but only managed to install 50,000 before the company closed down. We tested (simulated) with 1 million on the backed. The server backend needed to retrieve all the data from luminaires, which were actually sending data every 15 minutes. Creating a system like this was quite a challenge.
Euristiq also did extensive simulations for the millions of lamps using the system to see how it would work in real life. Our clients would get all the metric data from the lamps and be able to control them. The system also had to track all the hardware and the luminaires from the first day they were manufactured, through the process of installation, and after they were live in cities.
This was a brand-new invention for our company. Other companies are doing similar things, but this was our own design and concept at the time.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We discussed different ways to create the system, and Euristiq proposed multiple mechanisms and ideas to achieve our goals. The requirements spec was designed along the way because we wanted to evolve during the whole process. I discussed our options with Euristiq, and we came up with ways to handle different tasks within the scope of the project.
The product communicated through an SIP [structural insulated panels] system, a radio system, and some gateways. From the gateways to the backend, we had TCP/IP [transmission control protocol/internet protocol] connections running through telephone cords. Euristiq developed the engine to communicate with thousands of gateways around the world that were each connecting to hundreds of luminaires. The system ran on a big, scalable Azure environment with different database technologies for various purposes.
I worked with 2 or 3 people but primarily communicated with Pavlo [CTO and Co-Founder, Euristiq].
How did you come to work with Euristiq?
I and another company actually worked for HeSaLight as consultants. The other consultant company had used Euristiq before. I was working on a part of the project in the beginning, and then I became the team lead for the whole project.
How much have you invested with Euristiq?
It was around $350,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in May 2016 and the work ended in December 2016.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?
Their service was totally outstanding. Once we discussed a task and the timeframe, they never let me down. Everything was delivered on time, and the work was always excellent. They addressed multiple items that I didn’t even mention to them.
While they developed the product, they also were making the tools to test it accurately. The quality of the solution is outstanding. I’m really sorry that I could not continue working with Euristiq. We were completely satisfied with the solution—the backend, the graphics, the human interaction with the system, and everything else. I only have the highest praise for the product.
How did Euristiq perform from a project management standpoint?
They always submitted a schedule of completed work with the hours that we paid them for. We didn’t focus too much on documentation, but because there were so many things that we wanted to do with the system, the technical stuff was documented. I had no doubts about what they had been doing.
What did you find most impressive about Euristiq?
I’ve been in the IT industry for the last 40 years, and I’ve worked on many electronics projects and software projects. I’ve been starting a number of companies using high-tech software. I cannot compare Euristiq to any other team. They’re excellent.
The team often shared their opinion on different engineering tasks. As a project manager, not knowing all of the technical details, I find it’s often difficult to express my ideas. Euristiq listened to me, which kept ideas growing throughout our discussions.
Are there any areas Euristiq could improve?
No.

We came for an AI-native workshop, which lasted two days. Their team looked at our data and our customers’ actual workflows to find where AI would add real value. After that we had a prioritized roadmap, not just a list of ideas, with rough effort and cost for each item. We are moving to the next phase – custom AI development – in the near future.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK

The workshop alone saved us months of internal debate – we walked out with actual priorities instead of another brainstorm doc. We also got a clear list of what AI features make sense for us and what not, which we didn't have before.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Euristiq’s involvement spanned from discovery to post-deployment optimization. What set them apart from the outset was their engineering-first mindset. During the initial workshops, they challenged our assumptions and asked questions that others often overlook about how our data moved between devices, how we annotated experimental events, and how knowledge was preserved between researchers.
The project evolved into a full-stack custom platform development that included a powerful backend to process and visualize large-scale biomechanical data, APIs to interface with lab hardware, and a sleek, adaptable UI for researchers to control tests and annotate in real time.
Key deliverables included:
A real-time data ingestion engine with intelligent buffering to manage high-volume sensor inputs. A simulation environment integration module that allowed researchers to overlay experimental and synthetic data. A flexible permissions system to accommodate rotating research teams while maintaining strict data governance. Custom visualization dashboards tailored to the unique KPIs used in injury analytics and biomechanics.
Euristiq also handled DevOps setup, automated testing pipelines, and CI/CD workflows, which dramatically reduced our deployment friction compared to previous tools.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
From a tangible standpoint, the new system has fundamentally altered how we work. What used to take several days like correlating real-time test data with simulation outputs is now done within the same session. Researchers no longer wait for data post-processing; they interact with it live, gaining insights on the fly, which is a game-changer for high-stakes research scenarios.
What struck us most was how seamlessly the platform blended into our culture. There was no resistance from our engineers or scientists only curiosity. That alone speaks volumes about Euristiq’s intuitive UX design and their commitment to user-centric development.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Project management was consistently sharp. We had a dedicated PM who facilitated weekly reviews, flagged dependencies early, and served as a bridge between our domain experts and Euristiq’s technical team. Even when we introduced mid-project changes such as integrating a new type of sensor Euristiq responded quickly and with well-thought-out technical alternatives, not just reactive solutions.
What was your primary form of communication with Euristiq?
Email or Messaging App
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Euristiq’s real strength lies in their intellectual empathy. They do not just write code; they seek to understand the "why" behind every requirement. They brought a rare combination of technical acumen and research literacy, which allowed them to speak our language not just in documentation, but in the actual logic and architecture of the platform.
One scenario still stands out: during integration testing, one of our senior researchers noticed an edge-case anomaly in the way crash test data was time-synced. Within 24 hours, Euristiq had not only fixed the bug but had proactively proposed a fallback logic to automatically validate timestamps and flag discrepancies in future tests. That level of foresight is uncommon and deeply appreciated in research environments where data integrity is paramount.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Euristiq could have done differently?
While overall communication was strong, there were instances early on where timezone differences created slight delays in feedback loops during urgent iterations. However, once this was raised, they adapted swiftly by restructuring their sprint review cadence to better match our working hours.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Euristiq approached the engagement with an impressive level of preparedness and structure. After a series of exploratory workshops, they co-designed a custom software architecture that integrated ERP-like functionality with CRM capabilities and real-time analytics for our global partners. The solution was designed to be multilingual and role-based, ensuring a highly tailored experience for users in different regions and departments.
Key deliverables included a cloud-based distributor portal, a streamlined inventory and order management module, and an intelligent reporting dashboard. The platform also supported API integrations with our existing e-commerce infrastructure and our sustainability impact tracking system. They introduced intuitive user flows for back-office teams while implementing data privacy features and multi-layered access control a critical concern for us due to our international footprint.
Throughout the project, Euristiq provided detailed documentation, staging environments for iterative testing, and well-structured sprint reviews. We appreciated their willingness to rework user journeys based on live feedback from our sales leads and regional partners.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The transformation was both immediate and impactful. Teams that previously relied on spreadsheets and email chains to coordinate shipments and product launches were able to work seamlessly within the new portal. One memorable moment came when our distributor in Southeast Asia shared how the new dashboard enabled them to reconcile inventory discrepancies in a single afternoon something that used to take up to a week.
Customer support tickets related to ordering issues dropped sharply, while internal reports that previously required hours to compile could now be auto-generated in seconds. The real value, though, was in how the platform fostered better communication and accountability across time zones. Pevonia’s regional directors now feel more empowered with insights and less bogged down by operational complexity.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Euristiq’s project management deserves special mention. They were punctual in their delivery, meticulous in their documentation, and agile in adjusting timelines to accommodate last-minute requests or strategic pivots. There was never a sense of rigidity rather, we felt they were just as invested in the outcome as we were. They assigned a dedicated PM who remained our single point of contact throughout the project, and their proactive approach to status updates and risk mitigation kept things remarkably smooth.
What was your primary form of communication with Euristiq?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What stood out the most about Euristiq was their integrity and craftsmanship. It’s rare to find a development team that balances business logic and user empathy so well. They weren’t just building what we asked for they challenged us when necessary and contributed ideas that genuinely improved the end result. Their UX/UI recommendations helped us achieve a level of usability that exceeded our expectations.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Euristiq could have done differently?
In terms of areas for improvement, there was a brief period during the first month where documentation on our internal processes created a bit of friction. However, once Euristiq proposed co-writing some of the specs with our product team, that bottleneck quickly dissolved. Since then, the experience has been remarkably fluid.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
From the very beginning, Euristiq treated the engagement not as a standard app development project, but as a transformation partnership. They kicked off with an immersive discovery phase, not only meeting with our tech leads and content creators but also sitting in on coaching sessions, reviewing facilitator notes, and analyzing how our clients engaged with the Power Pathways™ methodology. This context-driven approach laid the foundation for everything that followed.
The project scope covered three primary workstreams: mobile app development, web platform development, and the creation of a custom backend that tied it all together through a secure, scalable architecture. Key deliverables included an intuitive, neuroscience-themed mobile coaching app, a web-based leadership dashboard for HR and executive sponsors, and an admin portal for our coaches to track and analyze participant journeys.
The mobile app was the centerpiece of the solution. Designed to be both reflective and interactive, it allowed users to go through daily mindset exercises, receive nudges based on behavioral cues, journal breakthroughs, and track their neural state evolution through guided prompts. Euristiq implemented a beautifully minimalist UI that made cognitive processing smoother—aligned perfectly with our behavioral science ethos. Every interaction, from selecting a growth area to receiving reinforcement messages, was built to feel like a trusted guide rather than a digital chore.
On the web side, they developed a robust dashboard that empowered our client companies to monitor team progress, assess leadership capability trends, and pull engagement metrics—all while respecting privacy boundaries. This required Euristiq to build fine-grained access controls and encrypted data storage mechanisms that would satisfy enterprise-grade security needs.
Perhaps the most impressive part was the backend orchestration. Euristiq architected a microservices-based backend that allowed each module from assessment engines to notification systems to operate independently but cohesively. They also integrated advanced analytics features, enabling our leadership coaches to gain insight into patterns we had never been able to capture before. NLP (Natural Language Processing) models were subtly woven in to analyze journaling content (with full user consent), helping our facilitators spot emerging themes or internal blockers early on.
Weekly sprints were accompanied by detailed release notes, user testing sessions with real client stakeholders, and hands-on change management documentation. Every milestone was delivered with a clear rationale and measurable impact. They also provided DevOps setup for cloud hosting, ensuring high uptime and global accessibility critical as our clientele spans multiple time zones and regions.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The results of this collaboration with Euristiq went beyond what we had initially envisioned. It wasn't just about having a functional app or a polished web portal it was about transforming how our clients experience change and how we, as an organization, understand and scale impact. The very fabric of how we deliver leadership development has shifted. We now offer a hybrid model where our high-touch coaching is seamlessly reinforced through digital channels, improving continuity, engagement, and behavioral retention.
Clients who previously required intensive one-on-one follow-ups are now engaging more consistently thanks to the structured nudges and in-app reflection tools. One of our enterprise clients reported that their leadership teams were more aligned and self-directed just six weeks into using the platform. They attributed this to the personalized experience the mobile app provided, allowing leaders to reflect at their own pace while still staying accountable through the analytics shared with their internal HR sponsors.
Internally, our coaching team is now operating with a level of efficiency we didn’t think possible. What once required days of manual data collation is now automated through the coach dashboard, with insights presented in real time. This allows our facilitators to focus on coaching not reporting. Additionally, our business development team now has a compelling demo platform, which has already helped us close several large enterprise deals that were previously beyond reach.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
In terms of project management, Euristiq set the gold standard. From day one, their team was structured, communicative, and proactive. They used a dedicated Slack channel for real-time communication, scheduled sprint reviews with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and managed Jira boards with impeccable transparency. When we encountered unexpected challenges such as our need to change user persona assumptions mid-project they didn’t push back. Instead, they reorganized the sprint schedule, helped us re-map user journeys, and delivered updated wireframes within days.
Their responsiveness and calm professionalism were especially noticeable during user acceptance testing. When a high-profile client encountered a minor but critical bug during their pilot, Euristiq’s engineers were already investigating it before we finished reporting it. They provided not only a patch but also a clear explanation and a long-term prevention strategy.
What was your primary form of communication with Euristiq?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What stands out most about Euristiq is their ability to deeply integrate into your mission. They didn’t just understand the technical side they understood the human purpose behind what we were building. They took our neuroscience principles seriously, often challenging us to make design decisions that would support not just display behavioral change. That level of alignment is rare.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Euristiq could have done differently?
As for areas of improvement, the only feedback we offered was around documentation for our internal IT team. While Euristiq delivered technical documentation for all components, we would have benefited from a separate handover guide designed for non-developers especially those in coaching and client support roles. That said, once we voiced this, they responded quickly by organizing a series of enablement workshops, walking our team through every component with great patience and clarity.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What specific goals or objectives did you hire Euristiq to accomplish?
The primary goal was to modernize our legacy architecture into a more modular, scalable, and cloud-friendly system without disrupting existing users, compromising data integrity, or losing domain-specific customizations that law firms had come to rely on.
We also sought to eliminate the performance bottlenecks that were emerging across both our on-premise and cloud deployments, accelerate feature release cycles through a more agile backend, and ensure compatibility with modern third-party systems such as CRMs and accounting software
. The project had to be done with a high degree of sensitivity, given the nature of legal data, and demanded full compliance with privacy regulations and auditability standards.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Euristiq approached the engagement with a thorough discovery phase, which we deeply appreciated. Before a single line of code was rewritten, they invested significant effort in understanding the architectural foundation of our legacy CSI Lawyer system. We jointly identified critical modules that required reengineering and defined modernization strategies for backend services, UI layers, and data pipelines. The scope included refactoring our core business logic into modular microservices, migrating key functionalities to a cloud-native environment (while still supporting on-premise use cases), and integrating a modern CI/CD pipeline to streamline deployments.
A particularly challenging area was the modernization of our case lifecycle engine, which is complex due to its configurability. Euristiq didn’t propose a rip-and-replace approach. Instead, they rebuilt each component incrementally, testing against existing data models and usage patterns. They also redesigned the reporting engine to support more dynamic visualizations and built an API gateway to facilitate secure third-party integrations. We received detailed deliverables across all workstreams: updated service documentation, deployment playbooks, modular source code repositories, QA automation scripts, and change management guidelines tailored to both our internal dev teams and customer-facing support teams. Throughout the engagement, they were highly transparent and collaborative, offering technical walkthroughs, sprint demos, and architectural decisions with clearly documented justifications. It was evident that Euristiq was not just checking boxes, they were deeply invested in aligning their solution with our long-term business vision.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The success of this collaboration wasn’t just in the technical migration, but in how seamlessly it was executed without interrupting our existing client base. One of the first noticeable outcomes was the reduction in system latency during high-volume operations particularly during month-end invoicing activities. Our clients reported faster response times and a smoother experience overall. Internally, our development team is now able to roll out new features with significantly less friction, thanks to the modular codebase and the new CI/CD infrastructure. Prior to this, updates involved lengthy regression testing due to the tightly coupled nature of the legacy architecture. Post-modernization, our QA cycles are more focused and predictable, and hotfixes are deployable with near-zero impact on production environments.
Additionally, we saw increased satisfaction from our enterprise clients, particularly those who had long requested integrations with external accounting and CRM systems. Euristiq’s implementation of the API gateway made those integrations much more straightforward. The reporting engine overhaul also gave our clients more control over visualizing their case metrics, billing histories, and account receivables. Our support tickets related to performance have significantly declined. From a business standpoint, this project allowed us to retain long-term customers who were previously considering alternatives due to limitations of our old platform. It also opened the door to serve larger firms that demand cloud-first legal tech solutions.
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Euristiq’s project management style was one of the most refreshing aspects of the engagement. We worked with a dedicated delivery manager who served as a bridge between their engineering team and our stakeholders. Every sprint cycle was well-structured, with priorities discussed during weekly check-ins. They also used a shared dashboard to communicate progress transparently, complete with risk assessments and status updates on each deliverable. Their responsiveness was particularly notable we never had to chase them for clarification or follow-ups. Even when faced with architectural roadblocks or last-minute change requests, the team maintained a solution-oriented mindset. It never felt like we were working with an external vendor; the engagement was more akin to an extension of our internal team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What set Euristiq apart was their ability to blend technical excellence with domain empathy. They took the time to understand how law firms use our product, what their pain points were, and how legal workflows differ from other industries. That domain understanding shaped their approach at every level be it UX decisions, audit trail compliance, or data migration integrity. Also, their documentation was among the most thorough we’ve encountered, which made internal knowledge transfer incredibly easy. Beyond technical know-how, their team had a calm, grounded energy throughout even when under pressure. That level of consistency and professionalism made the entire modernization journey feel less daunting than it actually was.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Euristiq could have done differently?
If we had to identify one area of improvement, it would be around localization support during the testing phase. While Euristiq’s engineers were fully proficient in English, some nuances in our Finnish- and Swedish-language modules took longer to iron out, partly due to our own limited availability of native testers. In future collaborations, we would consider adding a multilingual QA support phase earlier in the cycle. That said, once these localization gaps were identified, the Euristiq team responded swiftly, adapting their process to include more granular language checks. It’s a minor point in the context of a highly successful engagement, and one that we believe can be easily fine tuned in future iterations.

Our Story
Since 2016, Euristiq has modernized systems too expensive to maintain and too fragile to change — and built new products right from day one. 300+ projects later, that's still the work, across fintech, energy, travel, healthcare, and education. AI-native by default: our 4D approach ships 2× faster and cheaper.
For us the tech is never the label — the business pain is. Every engagement starts with what's costing you money, time, or customers, and ends with software that measurably changes it.
Meet the Team
