As operations manager for Asia region, we were looking for new efficiencies in our processes. Taking advantage of new technologies we decided to start this project as a pilot for Vietnam in order to faster the contract creation.

We selected this vendor based on the price but not only. The quality of the work done in order to have a precise quotation was very important for us because Enlab was one of the few companies that requested extra information to make the quotation. We thought that the time invested was a sign that they took the project seriously.

The only and most important measurable outcome of this project is the fact that the product is being used on a daily basis

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Overall, this is a very good experience as we have been able to develop a product that improve every day life of it users. Thanks to Enlab Software's adaptability and eagerness to learn about the commodity trading world. They have been quickly translating our requirements into a useful web and mobile platform that is used now every day.

One special mention as well on the fact that they took time to explain non technical people all the subtilities of such implementation. We wish to continue to grow together and makes this pilot project a global project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The quality of the testing for beta version could have been better at the beginning of the project but quickly improved after we mentioned it.

This is actually our second time working Vinh and his team at Enlab Software. We were super impressed with their ways of working, experience, communication, and quality the first time - re-engaging them was a no-brainer.

The MVP for Flyp is a responsive web-app that allows users to create a digital resume, including the following:

• key capabilities (e.g. has access to car) Users sign-up via Facebook.

We worked directly with Vinh (Enlab's CEO) on scoping the project and agreeing on the high-level technical design. Thereafter, Thai and Viet (both senior developers) took over and worked closely with us on the implementation.

What's truly impressive about Enlab is their speed and quality of communication. We were in touch with Thai and Viet almost daily via Skype and got progress updates in real-time.

Vinh and his team went above and beyond to deliver on our requirements and consulted with us on important technical questions.

As stated above, the main reason for why we decided to re-engage Enlab for this project is their communication and project management style. The team accommodates any tool you'd like: Slack, Skype, MS Teams, Trello, Jira. We used Skype for communicating and Trello for tracking tasks and time spent.

Right now we are recruiting the service providers before promoting the application for the users. The success of the application can be measured but the feedback of the service providers who are finding the application more and more convenient as we develop it.

Our goal was to modernize our existing product by gradually converting the old parts into new tech without creating interruption. We wanted a long-term partner to help with development and support of the product.

We were considering multiple vendors found online and ultimately selected Enlab because of the skill sets and experience needed for our technology.

Before committing to a long term project, we engaged with an initial project. After the successful completion of the initial project, we kicked off many other projects to further enhance the existing product.

Key deliverables were driven by our client needs. Enlab delivered multiple enhancements including building important features to make the product flexible. Enlab also helped to support the existing product.

Primary technologies used include: C#, ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, DevExpress and MS SQL Server.

Over the years, we’ve worked with several developers, QA staff and managers. When we needed an additional resource, Enlab provided.

Frequent delivery of enhancements were well received by our clients. We are able to quickly deliver on requests and address any issues.

We use Trello for project management that includes communication and time lines. Sprints and daily stand ups are indicated in Trello. Skype is also used for instant messaging.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We are most impressed with the speed and quality of the work. The developers truly care about their work. We simply spec the requirements, mostly with screenshots, and Enlab quickly delivers with quality. We also love that Enlab asks great questions and makes suggestions for improvements.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Because of the constant feedback built into our process, any areas of improvements were communicated and addressed.

I’m the managing director for a hospitality consultancy company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Enlab Software?

We have 30 hotels in five different countries in Asia, and we needed to standardize a  reporting system for all of them. All the hotels have systems that we connect to daily to retrieve data, process data, and present data. There was a lot of manual work involved on our side and the staff at the hotel. We needed a development company to automate everything.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’ve been working on two projects with them. The first project has been to develop some software tools on the different websites where we get the information to extract the data for all the hotels that we have. It’s basically an extraction service. 

They also assisted in developing a business intelligence visualization tool using Power BI. It displays the data for all of our hotels in a centralized system through a web application. We’ve been working on that for about two months now. The current project is 80% complete.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The extraction tool has been running without any issue for six months now. I’ve been having consistent data. It’s saved me about two hours a day. From an end-user perspective, our clients are very happy with what we can provide. Now we have a lot more capabilities to handle an influx of business.

How did Enlab Software perform from a project management standpoint?

One of the teammate’s native language isn’t English, but our other point of contact is fluent. We will have a call if we need to make sure everyone is on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their speed of delivery is impressive. I really appreciate that they deliver on time. I’m very pleased with the technologies they use. What I’m doing is pretty new when it comes to the technology I’m involved with.

The person they assigned to me, who is handling all the web development, has been learning a lot about the industry and new technologies. They give recommendations and guidance on what will and won’t work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’m very happy with their service. Sometimes there were language barriers but they’re very affordable. I don’t expect their English to be perfect, what they deliver is most important.

Try to get a list of estimations for time and cost.

Enlab Software has done at least a dozen projects with us.

For one project, they created an online portal and web interface for a client of mine. It allowed data to be accessed from anywhere, and it provides feedback to the main office.

We told them what the layout should look like, and they developed the web portion. The database was completed internally.

Vinh (Owner) is my main point of contact, but I’ve interacted with six or seven others.

I found them online. After that, I spoke with Vinh, and I really liked his processes.

We’ve spent between $360,000–$600,000. Each project runs between $30,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Enlab Software started in January 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

All of our projects together have been successful. Recently, we’ve begun doing a quarterly code review. We use automated tools to report code quality, which is always good.

We use Sentry.io to measure the amount of errors that arise. They resolve any issues within two days, and feedback from outside coders has been very positive.

How did Enlab Software perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve been handling project management, although I will use their project manager for future projects. They do their own code review every three weeks. We speak several times every day, working closely together.

All projects are finished on time. The team is flexible, willing to work long hours, and responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team follows their company management systems, working without being micromanaged. That’s an improvement over coders I’ve worked with in the past.

I can’t think of anything.

Go for it. I definitely recommend hiring them to do development.

I’m the founder and CTO of a company that develops software for the HR and payroll industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Enlab Software?

We’ve used them as our development center. We have three developers in-house, and we outsource quite a bit of work to Enlab Software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We give Enlab Software the specifications, and they build the software-based off of those. They helped build a recruitment product or applicant tracking system, which is used to manage the recruitment process in large organizations or recruitment companies. I’ve been developing the software since 2008, and I basically built version one of it.

I engaged Vinh’s (Founder & CEO) team to build version two of it, which is web-based. We created the design and built a specification document, and Enlab Software did the core development based on it. They broke it down into sprints and delivered feature by feature. All the input came from us, and they used it to build the actual software.

What is the team composition?

We’ve used 4–5 people from Enlab Software at the peak, and a minimum of one person, during maintenance. Vinh is my primary point of contact. I’ve been to their development center in Da Nang City, Vietnam 3–4 times so far to discuss different projects.

How did you come to work with Enlab Software?

I found them on Upwork, and we worked through that site for the first couple of years, on some small projects. We started working together directly after we built trust in them.

How much have you invested with them?

We work on a time and materials basis; we’ve done quite a few projects with them over an extended period of time. It’s very difficult for me to say what the total could be. I’d say it’s $200,000–$500,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Enlab Software in 2014, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We use standard development practices like DevOps, and we measure certain aspects. We work in agile, so we get to see the team velocity. I wouldn’t be able to benchmark Enlab Software’s performance against too many other teams, but, from what I’ve seen, their speed of work is pretty good. I’d give them an 8/10 for speed and a 7.5/10 for quality; they have a good balance. 

How did Enlab Software perform from a project management standpoint?

At least with my relationship with them, we’ve been doing most of the project management and they’ve been doing most of the development management, in the sense that they manage development and continuous deployment. We create sprints, break out features, and everything else that goes into DevOps. I wouldn’t really be able to comment on their project management skills, but they’ve gotten really good over the years from a development management perspective. We mainly communicate through chat, using Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Slack, depending on the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Trust is the most important thing in a business like ours, where we have ongoing projects. Their owner is a really trustworthy person, and we’ve been working together for a very long time. This is what drives me to use Enlab Software over and over again, rather than trying out different companies. I know what I’m getting. When we’ve needed to deliver something, they were with us. It’s the quality and speed, but it’s also the trust.

I’ve been working remotely for a long time, and I’ve used a lot of freelancers and companies. It’s hard to find the right kind of people, so, when we do, we tend to work with them for long periods of time. I’m still working with the other 3–4 firms I started working with 10 years ago, so I tend to stick with people I trust.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They have improved over the years. They were a small team initially, and quality control was an issue, but we’ve worked together over the years to make sure that the quality of the software they deliver is acceptable by our clients.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Communication is key in any project. Most of the problems we’ve come across came from changing scopes, so being precise with what we need is the first step to working successfully with any company. As long as they have the right specifications and direction, they can really do the job.

Enlab Software was hired to create the V2.0 of the client's iOS app using Flutter. The scope of work included developing an iOS app, a custom admin panel, and setting up AWS infrastructure. The iOS app development involved creating a user-friendly interface and enhancing the existing features of the app while adding new ones. The team also developed a version that was optimized for the larger screen size and touch interface of the iPad. The team also ensured that the iPad app was fully compatible with the existing iPhone app.

In addition, Enlab Software developed a custom admin panel that enabled the client to manage app content and user data. The admin panel was designed to be easy to use and provided a comprehensive set of features, including user management, content management, and analytics.

Finally, Enlab Software set up the necessary AWS infrastructure to host and deploy the apps. This involved configuring servers, setting up databases, and ensuring the overall security and scalability of the infrastructure. The key deliverables included a fully functional iOS app, an optimized iPad app, a custom admin panel, and a fully deployed and scalable AWS infrastructure.
