Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

TETS team has access to our beta environment.  When we have a set of forthcoming features, we send them a brief description, and ask them for validation.  Because they know the application already, we don't have to explain thoroughly.  We are using Github as a ticketing tool for issues, and TETS have a Github user with permission to report and follow up on issues.  They provide the context, description, and most often one or several screenshot and screencast.   When the issue is fixed, we tag it as "ready for test", and they check the correction.  The deliverables are mostly within the Github ticketing.

In some cases, when there are few new features, we ask them to test existing features on the production environment.

They have also created a set of automated testing scenarios, which are run periodically.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our expectation is that our platform maintains a high level of quality, meaning that any issue is found before rolling out new features.  Because testing is not what developpers prefer, it is a good solution for us to outsource some of the testing.  We need to have a dedicated person that has a deep understanding of the platform, so as to spot any regression, and to understand new features with minimal input.

We have continued working with TETS over many years because this process is satisfactory.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

The time constraint relates to when we plan to rollout new features.  We share this target date with them and they work to have completed all testing within this period.  We do not need extensive project management.  One thing that matters is that a change of person working for us does not happen too often and is handled smoothly, with an appropriate transfer of expertise.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

"impressive" or "unique" are words that are maybe too strong, but we very much appreciate having people who are really experts in testing, and we appreciate that we can afford having a full-time tester working for us, which we could not afford if it was here in France.

They also have been proactive in terms of automated testing processes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something The Eminence Technology Solutions could have done differently?

It does happen every now and then that an issue has been overlooked, and in some cases it is big enough that we feel it should have been spotted.  When that is the case, we try to communicate our concern and efforts are made to improve the screening.
