I was looking for a company which had the right skills to do state-of-the-art GUIs, which had people who know about UI and UX design and we needed someone who is not scared of dealing with very high complexity of active noise cancelling solutions.

EMBIQ used a node.js approach to build the GUI. We did many session with them explaining what our customers what need the tool for and EMBIQ then worked out the design and user experience. We got releases every week with direct and immediate feedback.

The GUI is in use by many customers and the team was very satisfied with the solution and also with the interactive, agile way of work.

After the initial research, it turned out that the best way to deliver the required functionality will be to replace the players for mobile devices. EMBIQ rebranded and developed a part of DRM integration for our streaming solutions for Android and iOS. The main job included adoption of our mobile streaming players and making them DRM compatible in the mobile environment. They proposed solutions created with Java and Objective-C.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We got a solution that our developers deployed in the applications. The project was delivered with slight delay according to the original plan, but all changes were well communicated and the whole process of development was transparent to us. The apps were well received by our B2B partners as well as by our end users, and thank to proper DRM integration the solution was accepted also by our content providers.

Mostly through e-mails and phone calls, they were asking us for a demo. Finally, they came to our office to show us the solution.

They started with research of the current solution and all the requirements, it was a good first step because after the research we knew what we are looking for.

I cannot recall if there are any areas to improve. Working with EMBIQ was very professional and easygoing at the same time.

We just met CEO of EMBIQ in Graz. We saw their projects so we have learnt what they can do, what technologies they are using and who is working with them. From the very beginning, we felt that communication would be clear, so we decided to work with them.

The first step was to design the device by EMBIQ. Next, build it, test it and implement it. The device was dedicated to automated tests. We send them requirements; they have adopted all the details and applied them to the project. EMBIQ built the whole device from the very beginning, they were working with Python, RaspberryPI, 3D printer, and more. Their second job was to provide quality assurance. And they did.

It is not for sale. We got from EMBIQ ready solution that we are using.

Mostly we stayed in touch remotely. But we met onsite during the workshops. But if I need to describe our weekly work - we have weekly meetings online to stay informed, more detailed information we got through the email, but the most important thing is that they were available for us through Slack so we could reach them anytime.

Professionalism, everything was delivered on time, fast and efficient communication, openness, and knowledge.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

It is a little difficult to find any area to improve, I think. During our cooperation, everything was under control, as we wanted to do it, and every task was fulfilled. That is why we decided to work together once again.

We hired EMBIQ to develop a proof of concept for the so called “autodocking” functionality for our Smart Kitchen Dock. This functionality is based on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). EMBIQ had to proof that the technology is sufficient to enable our use cases both in iOS and Android devices

We selected EMBIQ because of their broad knowledge on Bluetooth technology and their strong software development capabilities, specially in iOS and Android operating systems

We had at the beginning a kick-off meeting where we explained EMBIQ the use cases we wanted to enable. After different technical discussions we defined together different work packages and the delivery date for all of them.

After that, we had regular follow-up meetings where we discussed the progress of each work package and possible modifications. For the proof of concept, a mock-up of our docking station was provided to EMBIQ. The proof-of-concept software was developed using a Raspberry Pi and it was compatible both with iOS and Android devices

After the work done with EMBIQ we were able to confirm with a high confidence, that our use cases were possible with the technology we selected

We followed an Agile development. For tracking off activities and documentation we used Jira and confluence. The communication with EMBIQ was very fluid and they showed a lot of flexibility and creativity on finding solutions for the different issues that arose throughout the pre-development

We liked the adaptability, creativity, and openness of the development team. If something was not possible they told us and tried to find a workaround. This saved us a lot of time finding the right solution

First I explained about our solution, output data from the solution and what I am expecting from UI/UX perspective. Their PM and designer quickly understood the goal of the design after asking few professional questions. After few days, they brought very intuitive UI templates which also have good look&feel. EMBIQ also provided regular minor updates until completing of fine tuning of design.

EMBIQ professional PM and designer are worked directly with my team and their CEO Alexey always backed up the team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our customers are also satisfied with the intuitive design and the approach to control the UI. They agreed that they can generate effective marking insights by using the results from the dashboard.

Even though EMBIQ/Deeping Source have geometrical/time/language-wise distances, I couldn't feel any physical/logical difficulties. They provided timely updates about design status and deliverables.

Professional PM/designers who catches key points of my requests. Wider scope of design not only for design itself but also for next level software development.

The goal of the collaboration was the development of a first demonstrator which was exhibited at the international World Congress in Hamburg. With this MVP the integration of an AI based camera, a LED for visualization and the self-monitoring of the baseplate was shown.

With these functions, the feasibility of roadworks digitization, environment and traffic analysis utilizing and retrofitting the standardized K1 Baseplate could be demonstrated.

The presentation of the demonstrator at the World Congress resulted in a very positive market response. Thus, being able to intensify talks with potential customers and important partners. Besides IoT Baseplate was awarded by ERTICO - ITS Europe as "Start-up with the Best Product Innovation 2021"!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The development process was extremely efficient. For IoT Baseplate a young company with limited resources, optimal efficiency is of enormous importance. EMBIQ managed this development process optimally, kept us as IoT Baseplate informed and reported on the status where necessary with minimal administrative effort.

The team is extremely experienced and has both SW and HW skills and is insanely fast. Even new topics like the integration into a new backend platform was realized within a very short time. Price and performance ratio are excellent.

It must also be mentioned that EMBIQ has been incredibly efficient despite the still unclear requirements at a very early product stage. Without EMBIQ we would not have been able to realize the prototype in time. We would like to build a long-term partnership with EMBIQ. The further R&D project phases will definitely be realized with EMBIQ.

Thanks to recommendations we decided to choose EMBIQ for this particular project. We knew that they built a similar solution so we knew what we can expect.

The project has been realised on the grounds of technologies and standards fixed by our company. The whole project works on the basis of CMS system which includes www and iOS and Android mobile applications.

All works were completed at the time agreed and within the agreed budget. We delivered EMBIQ content - map, where the landscape park should be displayed. Categories, subcategories, they built all the content to display about each park. Downloading maps and base was working separately, thanks to this solution the app wasn't heavy for the device.

We stayed in touch via emails mostly. They transferred all the details, at the end of the bigger steps we were working with the demo. I don’t recognize if there very any bigger fixes. Everything went smoothly.

They were always available, we were meeting in-person, all the time we were talking about our timetables, so every change was made in real-time. All the time I knew what they are working on. We got what we needed, during the project we can all the time ask about something, put some changes.

I liked the professional approach to the client. EMBIQ was not a big team, but I was charmed by their qualifications, open mind, and willingness to take on challenges.

People from EMBIQ were available it was a big advantage because during all the time of our work I needed to put changes or new features. I could call them or write via email and they fix it or change the code very quickly.

Developers were really open-minded, they gave us advice when we were thinking about some solutions and we weren’t sure about it. We trusted them and their knowledge.

It was years ago but there was a fresh topic connected with streaming and it was getting more and more popular. The idea of the project was to create online television with real-time news - everyone who was connected with a mobile app could make a stream. And to do this we needed a good application.

I met EMBIQ’s leaders and I knew that they had experience with TV streaming and codecs, and, most important, they knew what they can expect from this new technology.

EMBIQ created a mobile app, the most complicated part was to implement it with the streaming part. The possibilities of this solution were recording with device codecs, repacking into transmission containers, sending data to server, receiving and processing it. They built mobile applications, solutions for live streaming, video transmission from mobile devices. Mobile app implementations were created for several platforms. Solutions were created to unpack content from native codecs into a custom service receiving the video content.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As a product EMBIQ delivered a solution for online streaming in real-time. The core of this app was the fact that everyone who was using it in real time could make a stream and share with others viewers.

We met in person many times, Project Manager was visiting our office and we could discuss every change. With the team We discussed responsibilities, mostly communicating remotely, they put out versions for testing, taught us testing, and once in a while they organised performance presentations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We appreciate how close they were to us. Half of their team worked remotely, but everyone felt like a team. Thanks to that it was really easy to make changes to the project. EMBIQ was very communicative and flexible, and what is important, devoted to our project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Our collaboration was very positive, there is only one thing that could be better - they could find more edge cases, make more stress tests to find every misstatement.
