I’ve worked with other SEO agencies in the past, and they’ve let me down. Obviously, as a creative agency in London, we’re in a very competitive market. Still, I’ve already started receiving new work and queries due to the great SEO work done by Elsner for us. Overall, I’m very satisfied with the work they’ve done for my clients and me.

Initially, I was going to provide images, examples, and design assets, but Elsner provided that instead. They created an initial design, and we approved 98% of it. 

Once the design was complete, the team went into the implementation and development stages. They handed over the website and gave us backend access. Later, I contacted them because I wanted to learn how to edit and update the site, and they offered free training to show me how to make small changes on my own.

Initially, Danny (Business Consultant) was my main point of contact, and once the project started, Elsner put me in touch with Sheldon (Project Coordinator).

They reached out to me via email. Although I get contacted every day by web development and SEO companies, the email I received from Elsner stood out from the rest because of the effort they put into it. I asked to hear more, and we booked an initial phone call with Danny. 

While I was expecting a typical pitch selling their business, Danny was amazing; he’d researched before the call and knew our business and my name. He said they had a team of 100–120 people; I assumed they outsourced them. However, Danny took the computer around the office and introduced me to the team, who greeted me by name. During that call, I also told them what we were looking for. After that, he sent me detailed meeting minutes with notes on everything I had said. 

Although I was originally looking to outsource web development for my customers, their pitch impressed me so much that we decided to consider Elsner to redo our website. We explained those requirements briefly, including a black-and-white color palette, the look and feel, and the theme. They understood what I wanted and gave me more examples, which I loved. After that, we signed the contract and gave them the job.

They first reached out to me in March 2020, and had our first meeting in December 2020. We worked together from February–May 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

As soon as the website went live, customers contacted us because they were very impressed and had never seen a site like ours. The site has made customers want to get in touch with us, which is what we wanted. Everyone we meet comments on our company website. 

Elsner was highly responsive, efficient, and knowledgeable in what they were doing. I had to supply graphics, examples, and design assets during the initial phase, but it was taking a long time. They took the initiative to design something for us, and I was blown away when I saw their initial design; they knew exactly what I wanted and got it spot-on.

We had some communication issues between their design and implementation teams; the site initially wasn’t functioning as intended and had spelling errors. However, they sorted it out, and everything else was amazing. In almost ten years of working in the digital space, I had never seen a company so efficient, responsive, and willing to take responsibility. Overall, I was very impressed with their work, and I plan to partner with them to send business over to them. 

How did Elsner Technologies Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via email, and the team constantly followed up with us to see if things were okay. When I asked for changes, they responded and enacted the changes within 30 minutes. Although the project took longer than expected, the delays weren’t caused by Elsner but by our side. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Elsner’s sales pitch was remarkable. Their approach to getting us on board was impressive because they put incredible effort into it. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve internal communication between their departments. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If I could go back in time, I would have gotten the technical team involved in the project before I signed the contract so that everyone was on the same page to avoid broken telephone and miscommunication.

We got in touch with one of the consultants at Elsner Technologies Pvt. Ltd who understood our requirements in detail. I knew the nature of our business is challenging and covering all the business needs into scope was a challenging task. We were guided with great details and also were provided marketplace flow guidance. We immediately got that the team has great understanding and decided to hire them.

Our website consists of two Major user type as Buyers and Sellers, it also has a Payment module which is integrated to our account. The Trackability of the virtual services and communication channel between seller and buyer are some of the other complex modules.

They Started with a Discovery phase to document the entire flow and provided the wireframes. Post signoff, the development was started and was managed under Scrum methodology. The project manager handled the scrum cycles and made timely deliveries. We used PHP for development.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were highly impressed by the efficiency of the team and their timely deliverables. The end-to-end process is smooth and well defined which I guess reflects their industry expertise. They keep everything well documented including the version releases. The marketplace was delivered as per the provided project plan.

They worked as a team to ensure that the product was developed up to the standards. We kept receiving guidance throughout the development process with minimal involvement. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks to the Elsner team for the wonderful job!

The project was managed as per scrum methodology. We have had biweekly meetings to review the project status and everything was explained in great detail. They used Slack for communication and Jira as a project management tool.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We’ve worked with other Digital agencies in the past but we liked Elsner most due to their well-structured team and in-depth knowledge of the industry. They’re customer focused and truly a representation of a service-based company. We were skeptical initially due to our past experience with Outsourcing but Elsner gained confidence with their working standards. Elsner has been personally recommended to us. We have contacted them and were able to find common grounds on how we could approach this project with them very quickly and profesionally.

This is extremely difficult to list, as our project literally covers every aspect possible. First we have delivered our key concepts for the platforms along with the very vague requirements.

Elsner has then created design mockups according to our concept and wrote up more specific requirements. We then went back and forth until everything was perfect, at which point they have started the development.

The main deliverables were broken down into 3 different milestones and key functionalities were shared, discussed and tested inbetween those milestones. We basically discussed issues and queries every single day in our Skype chat to move forward as quickly as possible.

Main technologies used were React JS for web and Flutter for mobile with Firebase.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We had a very successful launch with over 2'000 new users in the first 2 months which already create a mostly cost covering revenue stream.

Basically the whole work style was based on scrum. We communicated over Skype and rarely e-mail. During the development phases we had minimum 1 call per week and in the periods after deliverables multiple calls a day.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their work ethic and friendliness were impressive. They have always managed to find the perfect solutions for any issue very quickly.

As this project was conducted from scratch there were a lot of changes to the original concept throughout the development from our side and they have always done and changed everything exactly according to our wishes without discussion.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As I was not very familiar with all of the technologies used in this project at the start (I personally don't have an IT background) Elsner has made some decisions based on their best practices.

In retrospect it would have been good to include me more into those tech specific decisions from the very beginning. But this is mostly my fault because I have never asked them to do that during the first phase of the project. After I have expressed that wish they have included me in everything.
