We were looking for a team to help us design the framework and UI for a new platform for our clients. The portal needed to be extremely intuitive and give our clients an easy and effective way to manage their program components. This project included the design of new user flows as well as the redesign of current flows to match the new framwork.

The designer worked closely with us throughout the project to keep our goals and timing aligned and ultimately they were able to deliver a high-quality product on-time.

We are a smaller team that seeks out flexibility in all our vendor partnerships whenever we can. We also prefer to be hands-on when time allows. Elekens unique subscription structure offered us the perfect solution. We were able to have direct communication with our designer as well as the structure and stability of a larger firm managing behind the scenes.
We were very impressed by Eleken's willingness to work with us to meet our deadlines and their ability to provide such high-quality work and support at an affordable cost.

Honestly, our partnership with Eleken ended up being our ideal scenario. From a design project perspective, their structure is not traditional but it allowed for a more hands-on relationship. I can understand that some companies would prefer or need a more traditional approach that allows for a fixed cost and timeline quoted upfront. But for us Eleken's subscription structure and one-on-one designer approach is great.

Eleken did all the quality control so we didn't have to.

We've been providing our multi modular back office platform and white labelled online ordering to customers for several years. A development decision was take to migrate the software to the latest version of the underlying platform, in order to continue to serve our customers by taking advantage of advances in technology. In conjunction with this, a full design update was planned.

The platform is wide ranging and many functional changes were incorporated into the updated platform. One challenge was to revise the look and feel of the current platform to align with the new platform design, while the staged transition from one to the other takes place, allowing users to switch as seamlessly as possible between old and new, without becoming disorientated. The project is ongoing and being delivered module by module.

The scope of work entailed the design of a frictionless end-to-end customer journey for our B2B2C web app. The product designer's role was to quickly build a deep understanding of pain points currently faced by our users, propose design concepts to the Product Owner, break the approved design concept into discrete user flows, consider sensible trade-offs to deliver 'must have' features for each user flow, and deliver daily iterations of the clickable wireframe in order to demonstrate the functionality of each user flow. Thee key deliverables were:

The product designer was assigned to work with me on a full-time basis for the agreed duration. We convened via video call every morning, without fail, for two months. During these daily calls, the objectives and expected deliverables for the day were agreed and relevant clarification provided. The product designer thereafter made sure to confirm progress made at the end of each day.

The product designer was organised in his approach to work, focused on daily milestones and weekly objectives, committed to delivering high quality work, asked good questions, responded well to ongoing feedback, and demonstrated a capacity to propose alternative approaches to getting the job done faster and/or better than initial recommendations.

From every interaction with staff of the company, it was evident that they were committed to delivering a successful project to me as the client. I think this had the beneficial effect of creating the right conditions for the product designer to deliver his best work every single day.

At the start of the project, contract formalities took longer than expected to complete and I was initially concerned that this could delay the start of our time-sensitive project. Thankfully, Eleken made the product designer available for the agreed start date even while contract formalities were still being negotiated. This is a good example of how their pragmatic client-first approach made it so easy to work with them.
