BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CFO of a packaging company. We focus on distribution, sales, and service of packaging equipment and supplies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with EFOQUS?

We’d grown to the point where we needed to go from QuickBooks to Microsoft Business Central, and we were hoping for a CRM. Our goal was to go completely remote and paperless between our operations and CRM sales. We initially went with a Microsoft partner to implement Business Central, but it was totally disastrous.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked with EFOQUS and other consultants to clean up the problems and implement Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and the sales CRM from scratch. From there, we’ve continually refined and improved our processes with EFOQUS. We pay our licenses through them, and now all of our stuff is in the cloud. Before, it was on our premises.

What is the team composition?

Mark (Account Executive) does sales, and Lars (Managing Partner) is our project manager; he’s our go-to person. Whatever we work on, he finds a subject matter expert to do most of the work, so we've had a couple of people on our team.

On the other hand, Eric (Managing Partner) is highly knowledgeable about Microsoft Business Central Dynamics products. He’s written a SharePoint connector and different add-ins to improve our productivity. 

How did you come to work with EFOQUS?

We were in trouble with the Microsoft Dynamics products implementation — we’d only done the Business Central portion, which was disastrous. We were searching for help because our partners told us suddenly that they’d reached their maximum number of hours and wouldn’t do any work for the contracted price.

I talked to a consultant from another company that did training in Microsoft Dynamics. I’d done training with them, and they recommended using EFOQUS as our Microsoft partner to finish the implementation.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay approximately $3,000–$4,000 per month for our Microsoft licenses. For their services, we’ve spent about $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2020, and our relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

First, the system works, and they’ve led the whole project. More importantly, our success is that our sales and customer service teams now utilize the Microsoft sales CRM daily as their primary tool.

How did EFOQUS perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent. They don’t waste time, and Lars brings in the people we need. Overall, they’ve kept the project moving.

We do all our video meetings through Teams and use emails to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have great personalities, and the team is customer-focused. It doesn’t feel like they try to sell us anything; we have honest communication and feel comfortable with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing I can think of offhand.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

We broke our engagement into pieces, so we’re planning on phase two. That way, we can just focus on one part, get it functioning well, and then give us a little breathing room to move on to the next phase.
