EdTechXperts was founded by Brandon Smith, a seasoned thought leader with over 20 years of leadership in higher education and edtech, with a track record of driving access, equity, and student success through technology. He currently serves as President and COO of Enflux, where he helps academic institutions turn data into actionable insights for continuous improvement. Previously, Brandon served as President & COO of Honorlock, where he led the company through a period of rapid growth, scaling ARR by 1103% ($2M to $20M in 2 years) and moving the company from #236 to #103 on the Inc. 5000 list. His earlier roles include Executive Vice President at ExamSoft and Director of Education at Kaplan (KHEC), where he focused on assessment integrity, accreditation readiness, and the student experience at scale. Beyond his executive roles, Brandon advises multiple SaaS companies in the edtech space, helping them align product strategy with real-world educational impact. His career spans academic operations, user-centered design, and customer success, all rooted in a deep commitment to improving learning outcomes.

Brandon launched EdTechXperts to fill a gap he noticed over the years—authentic, actionable content that serves both EdTech buyers and vendors. Frustrated by the lack of practical insights and product-focused conversations, he created a curated newsletter to bring together real voices, expert opinions, and product intelligence from across the EdTech ecosystem—all in one place.
