I’m the digital marketing manager of a consumer packaged goods company in the water filter space. We have 25 employees within our business, but we’re part of a larger, global enterprise that has over 5,000 employees worldwide. In my position, I manage our marketing team, which consists of five people who report directly to me.

What challenge were you trying to address with eCommerce Placement?

We needed to grow our team and insource resources to cover positions we were covering through external agencies. We had grown to the point where it was challenging to use those agencies, so we needed strong in-house talent.

What was the scope of their involvement?

eCommerce Placement helps us hire in-house resources. Every time we need to hire a new candidate, we have a kick-off call where we provide them with documentation that details the scope and requirements for the position we need to fill. During this process, they provide us with guidance on clarifying the job description or title and ensuring that we’re offering the right compensation and career opportunity,

After that meeting, eCommerce placement takes 1–2 weeks to screen candidates for us and present the shortlisted candidates with their resumes and backgrounds. From there, we decide which of the candidates we want to interview, and we begin an interviewing process. Overall, it is a pretty straightforward process.

We’ve mostly worked with Adam (Chief Talent Officer), but two other people from eCommerce Placement have also provided support.

I found eCommerce Placement when looking for an agency specifically geared towards hiring people with e-commerce expertise.

We’ve spent between $50,000–$100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around August 2021, and our engagement is ongoing. We work on an ad-hoc basis; whenever we need to fill a new role, we go to them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

eCommerce Placement has done an excellent job at listening to what we’re looking for and presenting very strong and highly relevant candidates for our company. Thanks to their great work, we were able to hire four people within four months.

How did eCommerce Placement perform from a project management standpoint?

Although ours are not very complex projects, eCommerce Placement has done a great job at managing them and following through. Additionally, their communication is easy and fast. We communicate via email and phone.

I’m the CEO of BrandJump, an e-commerce agency focusing on home furnishings. We help home furnishing manufacturers sell their products on different e-commerce platforms.

We needed help with HR recruitment. Over the years, we’ve had several different roles specialized in the e-commerce industry that we’ve needed to fill, so we’ve relied on Adam (Chief Talent Officer) and his team in eCommerce Placement to help us with these efforts.

What was the scope of their involvement?

eCommerce Placement has helped us fill numerous important positions for our organization since 2016. For every recruitment request, we first send them a job description, and they source different candidates for us within their network and on LinkedIn. Occasionally, Adam also helps me enhance the job descriptions I send them.

As part of the sourcing process, eCommerce Placement talks to the candidates they find and prescreen them. Then, they give us a synopsis of each candidate, including their background, experience, compensation range, and their own opinion on whether this person will be a good fit for our company.

After evaluating the synopses, we select the candidates we want to get to know better, and eCommerce Placement coordinates interviews with us. Depending on the role we’re filling or the specific situation, they either stay involved in the recruitment process, or we take the lead from there and complete the process ourselves.

Essentially, eCommerce Placement supports us as much as we request or as much as needed. Still, they serve as a strategic adviser throughout the entire process, regardless of their level of involvement. Once we hire the candidate, their involvement ends.

I’ve been working directly with Adam throughout our engagement. He is the primary liaison between his team and us, and he is in charge of all of our communications. However, I know that other people from his team work behind the scenes, vetting and screening candidates.

We started working together in July 2016, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

eCommerce Placement has found a number of candidates that remain an important part of our organization, which is a testament to their successful recruitment services. They’ve helped us hire candidates for six different types of roles within our company at different levels, from entry-level roles to leadership.

How did eCommerce Placement perform from a project management standpoint?

eCommerce Placement’s project management has exceeded our expectations. We have phone calls with Adam at different stages of the process to talk about where we are. During these calls, he usually gives us some advice on appropriately and effectively moving forward. We usually communicate via phone calls and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

eCommerce has a vast network in a very specialized niche industry. Additionally, they really get to know the businesses they work with and the profiles they’re recruiting for. Thanks to their vast knowledge in their industry, they provide sound, strategic advice throughout the process. Furthermore, they have a very small, personable company feel, which is very different from other recruitment agencies I’ve worked with in the past.

No. We’re very happy with what eCommerce Placement has done for us, which is why we’ve been working together for so long.

Help them understand your company and the role you’re looking to fill. Additionally, provide them with a detailed job description. The more specific you are, the better results they will yield.
